Summary
Jujutsu Kaisenis currently, quite clearly, in the climax of the Culling Game arc. This arc has been extremely intense for the fans to witness, with countless powerful characters fighting to the best of their ability and, and at the same time, some fan favorites losing their lives. The last few months ofJujutsu Kaisensaw the story focus on an incredibly long-awaited fight between Gojo and Sukuna. These two characters are known to be the strongest in the entire series and it was only a matter of time before they started fighting.
Unfortunately,Gojo was the one who ended up losing that fightas he was cleaved apart by Sukuna. Immediately after, Kashimo stepped in and revealed his Cursed Technique in the previous chapter. However, at the end of it, it was Sukuna who returned to his true form and was back to his full strength. With that, the battle between these two characters was bound to conclude inJujutsu Kaisenchapter 238, and that is precisely what ended up happening.
The Beginning Of Sukuna Vs Kashimo
The build-up ofthe fight between Sukuna and Kashimobegan long ago. Kashimo always wanted to fight against Sukuna and that was clear from the very beginning of his character introduction in the story. Even when he fought against Hakari, it was quite clear that he wanted to test his skill against the strongest and even Hakari could understand him, to an extent. Sadly, he had to wait for his chance as Gojo was the one who had to fight Sukuna first. Fans were quite sure that Gojo would triumph over him and given that he possessed a tremendous amount of strength the chance for Kashimo could never have come.
Yet, Kashimo was patient and even respected the fact that Gojo was fighting his own battle. When the likes of Maki and Yuta wanted to join the battle, Kashimo did not let them, largely due to two reasons – the first reason being that it would be extremely disrespectful to Gojo if they joined in and, secondly, he was the one who was supposed to fight him next. Kashimo waited patiently as Gojo fought his battle and, although he tried his very best, in the end, he ended up dying. He finally got his chance after Gojo died and immediately after engaging in a short conversation with Sukuna, he revealed his cursed technique, called Genju Kohasaku.
Kashimo’s Cursed Technique
Kashimo’s Cursed Technique, Genju Kohasaku, was extremely powerful, however, the price to use it was also ridiculously big as he could only use it once and his body would start crumbling after. Kashimo used this technique to improve his physical attributes to a point where even Sukuna, in the body of Megumi, could not react to his blows. The cursed technique allowed him to utilize any and all the phenomena caused by lightning and this was an incredible power-up for him. Fans know that he did not use his cursed technique in the battle against Hakari and now, finally, he was relying on it, meaning that he was stronger than most other sorcerers around at the moment.
Not only could he move at blazing fast speed with his cursed technique, but he could also use sound waves to attack his enemies, which even Sukuna could not dodge. Furthermore, to take things to the next level, he could also vaporize anything using electromagnetic waves on contact, and this was one of the biggest aspects of his cursed technique. Kashimo was almost unstoppable, however, that is when his bubble burst as Sukuna started to pull out his own trump card, a process of reincarnation.
Sukuna’s Return - Real Form Sukuna
Towards the end ofJJKchapter 237, it was Sukuna who started taking the battle by its throat as he started to reincarnate. A few chapters before this happened, fans were made aware of the fact that Sukuna did, in fact, hold a trump card. This was made clear when Gojo’s students wanted to join the battle as Gojo was fighting a three-on-one.
However, it was made clear that if they did that, thenSukuna would most likely bring out his trump cardand things might go from bad to worse for the sorcerers. This trump card was not revealed anytime before Gojo was defeated. After Gojo’s death, Sukuna was pushed into a corner because he could not fight to the best of his abilities as he was. His body was at its very limit. He could not use Domain Expansion or, even used Domain Amplification.
Even his Reverse Cursed Technique was completely busted and he could not heal himself properly at all. Sukuna was extremely weaker than when he started the battle and he could not have defeated Kashimo in that state. That is precisely why he relied on his trump card, which was reincarnation. As the narrator explained, just one time, without even utilizing reverse cursed technique, Sukuna could return to his true body and, as they mentioned that, out of the smoke emerged the King of Curses, with four arms and many faces.
Sukuna Kills Kashimo
Jujutsu Kaisenchapter 238 showcased the result of the battle between Sukuna and Kashimo. Right from the get-go, fans knew that it was going to be a victory for Sukuna as Kashimo could possibly not have fought back against this monstrosity of a fighter. Sukuna utilized his hand-to-hand combat and it was revealed to the fans that he could use chants using one pair of hands and fight at his best using the other pair. This meant that he could utilize cursed techniques like no other. Fans got to see Sukuna utilize the slice that chopped the world, the very same one that killed Gojo, once again in this battle. Thankfully, Kashimo was able to avoid this, however, this only came after a warning from Sukuna.
Then, Sukuna launched a completely new technique which was a net of Dismantle slashes. Nobody could evade this powerful technique, not even Kashimo. Fans also got to see the old version of Kashimo once again as he was close to meeting his end. In discussing what solitude, strength, and love meant with Sukuna, he was met with the answer that love was absolutely terrible and strength was the only thing that mattered because it gave Sukuna all the freedom in the world that he wanted.
With that, Kashimo met his very end and thus, the curtain fell on a brilliant sorcerer from 400 years ago, knownas the God of Lightning.With his death, it is now time for other sorcerers to continue the fight against Sukuna and this is very likely going to be the place where the King of Curses finally falls.
