AfterYouTuberMrBeast jokingly asked Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos to give him $1 billion, he received a surprising acknowledgment on Twitter. While Bezos hasn’t given MrBeast a billion dollars just yet, he’s potentially indicated some interest. Jeff Bezos has officially followed MrBeast on Twitter, the first evidence that the billionaire Amazon magnate not only knows who theYouTubecontent creator is but also acknowledges that he heard MrBeast’s request for money. That doesn’t necessarily mean Bezos plans to go any further. On July 1,influencer and entrepreneur MrBeastoffhandedly posted on Twitter that it felt like a “great day” for Jeff Bezos to give him a billion dollars – just for fun. There’s no obvious reason for MrBeast to make such a comment. MrBeast is certainly wealthy enough on his own, with his YouTube channel, fast food efforts, and philanthropy. MrBeast choosing to make his request for Bezos' cash amid a massive Twitter controversy, with Musk limiting access to tweets, could be related.RELATED:MrBeast Explains ‘Problem’ With Beast Burger VentureJeff Bezos didn’t immediately follow MrBeast after he made his request, however. It wasn’t until July 3 that MrBeast shared a screen capture showing that Bezos was now following his Twitter account. The capture showed the “Follows You” label next to Jeff Bezos' official account. The Bezos Twitter account hasn’t made any posts, so there’s no further information on the situation. However, Bezos only follows a total of 241 accounts, so it doesn’t seem like it would be a mistake.

As interesting asAmazon’s Jeff Bezoschoosing to follow MrBeast on Twitter might be, MrBeast has yet to follow up on the development. “He just followed me,” reads MrBeast’s one post since, with a pair of eyes emoji. If Bezos has sent a private message to MrBeast, perhaps letting him know the billion dollars is on the way, then MrBeast hasn’t confirmed it yet.

Few people actually expect Jeff Bezos to give MrBeast a billion dollars. However, given the popularity of MrBeast, it’s certainly possible that Bezos or Amazon could try and take advantage of the situation to create some positive press. It’s not impossible that MrBeast made the Twitter post with that in mind in the first place, considering theYoutuber’s experience with viral marketing.

Whether Bezos would ever want to give away a billion dollars to a YouTube influencer, he could certainly afford it.Bezos is currently valued to have over $150 billionnet worth. That much money would change the life of someone even as wealthy as MrBeast, and Bezos has 150x that. Hopefully, the pair will make the most of the attention they’ve drawn and do something for charity onYouTube.
