Celebrations for the 25th anniversary of thePokemonfranchise can be seen and felt all over the world. And now, it seems Japan, the home country ofPokemon, is also celebrating in its own way, with the news thatPokemonCafes in the region are integrating Hoenn Pokemon into their drinks menu.
It is not a surprise that The Pokemon Company seems to have really pulled out all the stops for its anniversary, given that the franchise has reached such a big milestone. In the 2021PokemonPresents live stream, the company announced new titles such asthe open-worldPokemon Legends: Arceuswhich is slated to be released in 2022, and finally confirmed the remakes for previous games inPokemon Brilliant DiamondandPokemon Shining Pearl. Therefore, it is no wonder that Japan would also have its own unique announcements for the 25th year anniversary.

In a recent post on the Pokemon Center Online website, a new article has been shared about thePokemonCafes in Japan adding new designs to their lattes. This time, the cafes will feature141 Pokemon from the Hoenn regionas designs for the menu’s “Pokemon Latte of Choice.” Fans will likely recall Hoenn Pokemon as 3rd-Generation Pokemon that were first introduced inPokemon RubyandSapphirefor Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance. Due to the games' popularity, remakes were produced for the Nintendo 3DS in 2014.
The latte designs will be available in thePokemonCafe starting from August 10, 2025, in the two branches located in Nihonbashi, Tokyo and Shinsaibashi, Osaka. Each latte cup will cost around 770 yen or $7.22 USD. In the main photo of the article, it seems theHoenn starter Pokemon Torchic, Mudkip, and Treecko will be part of the latte designs, as well as the region’s legendary Pokemon Rayquaza and mythical Pokemon Jirachi. The article also stated that the designs will include the different versions of the weather Pokemon Castform, and mythical Pokemon Deoxys.
The post also shared information that popularPokemonplushies will also be available for sale in the cafe, and fans will be able to pose with them during their visit.
