WithJokersmashing box office recordsand quickly becoming the hottest discussion point in the movie world over the last few months, it makes sense that the supervillain origin story would eventually see some sort of video game crossover. As it turns out, one now-iconic scene from the movie has made its debut in the video game world, albeit, not in a title you’d initially expect.

A video posted by YouTuber “Mojo Swoptops” shows the channel owner creating the infamous set of steps from the film withinFar Cry 5’s map editor, the finished product looking eerily similar to its real-life counterpart. The sequence the location is pulled from has become a relatively prominent piece of ideology for the film since its first trailer, with Joaquin Phoenix’sJokerdancing on the set of steps after being seen in his clown makeup and suit for the first time.

The recreation of the scene sees the YouTuber build the entire location from scratch, adding the stairs and the buildings surrounding them before adding graffiti to nearby walls and changing the skybox to accommodate the look and feel of the movie. It ends with a beautifully cinematic final shot of the stairs, which admittedly look bizarrely accurate to that of the real-life location despite being built fromFar Cry 5assets. Mojo Swoptops also took to Reddit (where they go by “duncsmaps”) and told their followers the amazing recreation took them an hour to build.

This is far from the first time thatFar Cry 5’smap editor has been used to recreate eerily accurate real-life locations, with the house fromHome Alone, the main location for the firstJurassic Park, and the beginning ofResident Evil 3: Nemesisall receiving their own recreations. It’s clearly a varied and multifaceted map builder that allows for some amazingly detailed recreations.

While this may be one of the first pieces of Todd Phillip’s Joker movie to make its way to the world of video games, the character himself is something of a staple of modern video game culture. Mark Hamill reprised his role as the menacing villain in Rocksteady’sArkhamfranchise, Telltale depicted him in their take on the superhero franchise inBatman: A Telltale Series, and he even made his way toPUBGin the form of a suicide squad skin. His next big video game appearance will be inMortal Kombat 11,where he will make his way to the game as a guest fighter.

Far Cry 5is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
