For most people, winter is the season to be jolly. For the developers ofMortal Kombat 1though, it’s the perfect excuse to release yet another paid-for seasonal fatality. The Winter Finisher (or Christmas fatality, as most players will likely end up calling it) is part ofthe controversial seasonal fatality packand provides players with a new way to destroy and demoralize their enemies after besting them in mortal combat.
Wherethe Thanksgiving fatality relied on grossness to grab players' attention, the Winter fatality is more about good old-fashioned gore with just a sprinkle of festive fun. Some might be curious to see the fatality for themselves to decide whether or not they want to buy it, while others may just want to learn the Winter Finisher button inputs. This guide can help on both fronts, as it not only contains a video of the Christmas fatality in action, but also instructions on how players can pull it off.

Providing they equipped it beforehand, players will be able to perform the Winter fatality by holding the block button and then pressing forward twice while standing at close range. If done correctly, theirMortal Kombat 1kombatant will pull out a candy cane and smash it over the other fighter’s head, causing it to shatter into pieces. They’ll then proceed to stab the shaft of the cane through the fallen fighter’s spine, pinning them to the ground in the process. Moments later, a monster-drawn sleigh will ride over the body and decapitate it, allowing General Shao Krampus to grab the head just before the sleigh takes flight.
How to Equip the Winter Fatality in MK1
Before players can use the Winter fatality, they’ll first need to equip it on the fighter that they’d like to use it with. To do so, they shouldhead to the Kustomize menuvia the main menu and then navigate tothe Finishers submenuof their chosen kombatant. Here, they’ll see a list of all of the seasonal fatalities that they have unlocked (which, at this point, should beHalloween, Thanksgiving, and Winter) and will be able toequip the Winter Finisher fatalityby highlighting it and then pressing X (PlayStation), A (Xbox) or B (Switch).
