Calling All Frogs is one of the strangest side quests inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It sees Cloud and the gang stumbling upon a strange area that turns all those who enter into frogs: a nice nod tothe Frog status effect from the original PS1 game. Not only will the party need to take part in a battle while in their new amphibian forms, but Cloud will also have to participate in aTotal Wipeout-style mini-game.

In addition to being strange, Calling All Frogs can be a little tricky, as fighting as a frog can seem incredibly ineffective at first and the mini-game is pretty difficult too. However, there’s a trick to mastering both of them, allowingFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthplayers to complete the side quest without too much trouble. The rewards for doing so aren’t great, but the unique nature of the quest makes it something of a must-play.

How to Complete the Calling All Frogs Side Quest in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Players can trigger the Calling All Frogs side quest by visiting the Community Noticeboard in Under Junon. After doing so, they’ll want to head down to the lower part of the settlement and follow the waterfront along until they reach the quest destination. After a cutscene or two, players will then find themselves in frog form and will need to defeat a bunch of Capparwires in order to progress.

Unfortunately, players aren’t able to deal very much damage using their regular attacks, which can at first make this feel likea losing battle. However, if they fill up a bar of their ATB gauge, players will be able to select the Leapfrog ability from the command menu. This powerful attack deals significant damage and will take care of most of the enemies here in a single hit.

After defeating all of the enemies, players should return to Finn, who’ll invite Cloud to play anewFinal Fantasymini-gamecalled Jumpfrog. The aim here is to avoid the spinning beams and stay on the platform for as long as possible. Over time, segments of the ground will begin to fall away and the beams will start to get faster, but players will only need to stay on the platform for 30 seconds to complete the quest.

The best way to achieve this is to avoid moving around too much, as staying in one spot makes it much easier to pre-empt when the beams are going to be passing by. The only thing that players will need to watch out for is that the two beams don’t pass them at the same time, but with a little careful planning, this can be avoided relatively easily.
