Slytherin House typically has a bad reputation in theHarry Potteruniverse with its tendency to produce evil wizards. Yet, Slytherin remains a fan-favorite, reflected in its enduring popularity in Avalanche Software’s magical RPGHogwarts Legacy. Although there are some differences, in many ways,Hogwarts Legacyremains predominantly loyal to theHarry Pottermovies in its portrayal of Hogwarts Castle. This rings especially true when considering its depiction of Slytherin’s common room. Compared to protagonist-centric Gryffindor, Slytherin doesn’t feature in the movies much. However,Hogwarts Legacy’s interpretation of the popular location does it justice in several ways.
Even months after launching, Slytherin remainsHogwarts Legacy’s most popular house. Many fans seem intrigued by Slythrin’s dark and mysterious allure, possibly due to an interest in exploring Dark Magic or in more complex character moralities. The rare presence of Slytherin’s common room in theHarry Pottermovies could also add to its mystery, as only small parts are seen predominantly inHarry Potter and the Chamber of Secretswhen Ron and Harry transform into Crabbe and Goyle using Polyjuice Potion. That said,Hogwarts Legacy’s depiction of Slytherin is faithful to the movie in several ways.
