AnElder Scrollsartifact that made it toSkyrimthrough the Creation Club could be a link between the series' past and future. It would be beneficial forThe Elder Scrolls 6to have connections to the series' history, especially with how many adventures players have taken across Tamriel.Skyrimwas another chapter in the history of this magical land, focusing on the titular region. However,Skyrimdid lack a few aspects of the series that managed to appear in previous installments. Thankfully,The Elder Scrolls 6still has plenty of opportunity to follow naturally from the last game.
One of Bethesda’s newer creations is theCreation Club forSkyrimandFallout 4. In a way, items from the Creation Club are like officially-released mods. Creation Club content consists of additions to the game that were designed by modders that were contracted by Bethesda for that purpose. In order to access Creation Club content, players need to buy Creation Club Credits and spend them on their items of choice. A lot of the items on offer feature new armor or weapons, but some bring new monsters and even quests. As an added bonus,Skyrim Anniversary Editioncame bundled with several Creation Club items.

Goldbrand Deserves a Legendary Return in The Elder Scrolls 6
One of the more prominent new additions among the pieces ofCreation Club Content added toSkyrim Anniversary Editionis Goldbrand. A legendary sword that appeared previously inMorrowindandOblivion, Goldbrand is most notable for the golden blade that justifies its name. In addition to looking exquisite, Goldbrand also has a powerful fire enchantment in each of its appearances, making it a fierce weapon in the hands of a warrior. In order to receive Goldbrand, players must complete a quest added alongside it called A Matter of Pride. It’s a long quest, but the reward is well worth the effort involved.
It seems strange that Goldbrand was left out ofSkyrimuntil the Creation Club made it available. While there are a lot ofpowerful swords inSkyrim, Goldbrand is a recurring element in addition to being a mighty weapon. The myth behind the weapon makes it worth searching out, as seen through the quests required to unlock it in past games. It’s disappointing thatSkyrimdidn’t bring it back at launch, with players having to either buy it from the Creation Club or get theAnniversary Editionto make it available. The Creation was excellent, but there was no reason to leave Goldbrand out in the first place.
Bringing Goldbrand back forThe Elder Scrolls 6seems like a natural choice, and not just because of its longevity. As a weapon of Boethiah, it is one ofThe Elder Scrolls' notable Daedric artifacts, which justifies its impressive power. There are a lot of well-known artifacts inThe Elder Scrolls, such as Azura’s Star and the Skeleton Key, that have seen even more appearances than Goldbrand. Considering Goldbrand’s simple yet powerful effect and eye-catching golden blade, it could find a comfortable place inThe Elder Scrolls 6, letting players discover one of Tamriel’s mightiest blades after yet another quest.
WhenThe Elder Scrolls 6rolls out its Daedric Artifacts, Goldbrand deserves a full-fledged return. The gleaming gold katana could find a place hidden in the series' next setting, waiting to add some flash to the player’s arsenal. While theEbony Mail took its place inSkyrimas Boethiah’s only artifact in the base game, there’s no real reason to leave it out again, especially considering its usefulness. There is a lot of history regarding Goldbrand throughout the series, and while it was only available as Creation Club content inSkyrim,The Elder Scrolls 6doesn’t need to make players wait to access it.
Skyrimis available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
