Horizon Forbidden West is now only a few short weeks away and developer Guerrilla Games continues to open up regarding new information on the highly anticipated PlayStation title. Previous trailers have showcased a wealth of new game details including thenumerous factions and people Aloy will be coming across. This includes the return of the mysterious character Sylens, who now appears to be working with the villain Regalla and her Tenakth rebel faction.
It also seems like Guerrilla Games is making sure that the new expansive region of the Forbidden West is both dense and packed with things to do. Naturally, players will be spending a good chunk of time hunting and fightingnew machine enemies including the hulking Tremortusk. However, the latest trailer for Horizon Forbidden West shows off a ton of side activities and challenges players can take part in, each offering a unique gameplay experience.

For those who may want to take a break from smashing machine-like animals,Horizon Forbidden Westhas plenty of other activities players can participate in. The latest trailer, called Challenges of the Forbidden West, highlights settlements and some of the new gear and upgrades each one has on offer. The Hunting Grounds also make their return from the previous game, tasking Aloy with completing specific objectives against the location machine types.
Old World Ruins and Machine Cauldrons also return for those who want to explore and learn a bit more about the game’s lore. Finally, Salvage contracts can be obtained and allow players to hunt unique machines which will grant rare parts once defeated.
Players who want even more combat,Horizon Forbidden Westlooks like it’ll have plenty of options. The first is a melee pit which sees Aloy going up against other human fighters. The trailer also highlights Regalla Outposts which can be taken over or going up against patrolling groups of riders. The last thing shown off was a massive arena which apparently pits Aloy againstdangerous machines including the viper-like Slitherfang.
It’s clear that Guerrilla Games has gone big with Horizon Forbidden West. Along with a massive open world to explore and a rumored 40 different machine enemies to fight, the studio has also managed to secure some serious voice talent to bring these characters to life. In addition to the return of Lance Reddick and Ashly Burch,Forbidden West also sees veteran actors Carrie-Anne Mossas the mysterious Tilda, and Angela Bassett portraying the villainous Regalla.
Horizon Forbidden Westis due to be released on February 18th on both PS4 and PS5.
