While exploringHogwarts Legacy, players come across a memorial for the late Scottish actor Robbie Coltraine whoHarry Potterfans may remember as Rubeus Hagrid. Since the launch of Hogwarts Legacy earlier in February, fans have been pouring over the game’s take on the Wizarding World, which includes iconic locations like Hogwards School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Hogsmeade village, the Dark Forest, and much more.
Naturally, with such a huge amount of space to explore, Avalanche Software has made sure to hide plenty of secrets and Easter eggs for players to find. In fact, just recently, players came across a fewnods to From Software and its popular titlesDark SoulsandElden Ring. The iconic bonfire can be found near a bunch of gravestones near Inferi Lair, as well as oversized gravestones sticking out of a nearby wall referencing the location at Limgrave inElden Ring. However, the developer has also seemingly hidden small tributes to thePotterfranchise as well including one to the late actor Robbie Coltraine.

In a TikTok from a user known as Why..so.sirius, the player takes off on their broom from the clock tower, heading south towards ahut based on Hagrid’s place inside of theHarry Pottermovies. At the back of the hut facing the Black Lake, there is a small gravestone by itself with a carved Hippogriff on the front, clearly referencing Hagrid’s animal companion Buckbeak first seen inHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The gesture clearly touched many fans who have praised the small detail, even if it doesn’t technically fit with the game’s timeline.
ForHarry Potterfans, Scottish actor Robbie Coltraine was best known for his role as the half-giant Rubeus Hagrid, who first appeared on-screen back in 2001 withThe Philosopher’s Stone. Coltraine recently passed away in October 2022, suffering from a variety of aliments like osteoarthritis, type-2 diabetes, and sepsis. The memorial gesture for Coltraine has gotten fans wondering if Avalanche Software has hidden any more toHogwarts Legacyfor actors who have since passed away such as Alan Rickman, who portrayed Professor Severus Snape.
This isn’t the first discovered nod to the larger Wizarding World inside Hogwarts Legacy. Franchise fans have already been pouring over every inch of the world and have discovered some really intricate Easter eggs, including a fewsecrets only die hardHarry Potterfans would likely catch.
