In a game as large asGrand Theft Auto Online, players find new bugs and glitches often. Historically,GTA Onlinebugs have been potentially game-breaking, so players identifying them quickly is key to the health of the game and their own experience.

However, a Reddit user found a bug that is completely harmless and hidden right under players' noses. The typo appears on a sign in the office above the ground floor of Los Santos Customs, theGTA Onlinehub for vehicle customization. Though not technically hidden, the sign is tucked into the back left corner by the computer desk, and can only be found using first-person free camera mode. The typo is a misspelling of the word “written,” which is instead spelled “wriiten.”

The Reddit user who found the image, named Shadow_Drift, posted it to theGTA Onlinesubreddit and users quickly began to make light of the typo. Some users joked that the typo was an inexcusable mistake and would lead to them uninstalling the game. Other users quipped that the typo broke the game or made it unplayable, making light ofsuch a harmless bug inGTA Online. One user pointedly asked Shadow_Drift how he even found the glitch, and how much effort it took to find.

Recently, a handful ofGame-breaking bugs or glitches inGTA Onlinehave both plagued and entertained players, such as a fence gate that causes players to explode players during the Cayo Perico Heist or a bridge that causes cars to clip through and fall onto the ground below. Unexpected explosions and clipping are synonymous with open-world games likeGTA Online, and lead to hilarious videos where one minute the player is driving and the next they’re 1,000 feet in the air for no apparent reason.

In the face of spontaneous clipping or combustion, what’s notable about the typo is that Shadow_Drift may have been the first and only person to discover it. The post about the typo was created on June 29, 2025. This means the typo has been only a few feet away from potentially millions of players for almost nine years, and yet went completely unnoticed or unreported. Though it is a small detail that had no effect on gameplay, the idea that this typo was within reach of the entire player base for such a long time without anyone noticing shows the ease at which thehidden secrets of gamescan fly under players' radars.
