Although starting the DLC questline is straightforward and akin to most DLCs released by Rockstar Games, players might find it confusing. Starting theSan Andreas MercenariesDLC inGTA Onlinerequires major prerequisites, and players need to know exactly what is needed to embark on new DLC missions.

How to Start the San Andreas Mercenaries DLC

Once Rockstar Launcher or Steam is done updating the game to its latest version, players should receive a call from Charlie Reed regardless of their location. On the call, Charlie proceeds to explain his presence as the leader of a mercenary group in Los Santos. Once players receive the phone call, they can clearly see a mission on their map with the “C” initial, which indicates Charlie Reed himself.

Players can start the DLC by heading over to Cypress Flats near the Southern Docks of Los Santos, where Charlie’s mission is. However, this would only cause delays as players also need to make an extremely expensive purchase out of the Warstocks Cache and Carry website to start the DLC.

Mammoth Avenger Modification

Although the Mammoth Avenger has been a part ofGTA Onlinesince The Doomsday Heist update, a lot of players are yet to buy it due to its whopping price. It ranges from $3,450,000 for the basic plane to $4,787,500 for an upgraded experience. However, if the player already has an Avenger to their name, they’d still need to modify it by visiting the Warstock Cache and Carry website. If players have a Hangarto their name, visiting it and talking to Charlie is also a viable method of upgrading their Mammoth Avenger with the required modification.

The modification required to access the new DLC is called the Operations Terminal, and it would set players back by $1,450,000. However, they can earn it back and more thanks to the mission payouts for this DLC. After purchasing the Operations Terminal, players unlock Charlie Reed as a contact on their smartphone.

Players need to locate their Mammoth Avenger since it needs to spawn in an open space and get inside it. Once inside, players should get a prompt telling them to check out the new Operations Terminal and Log in to start taking up the DLC Story missions coined as “Project Overthrow.” The player also needs to register as a SecuroServ CEO orMotorcycle Club Presidentto log in to the Operations Terminal.

Using the Operations Terminal

The Operations Terminal has two options to choose from, which are “Project Overthrow” and the “LSA Operations.” Project Overthrow consists of six DLC Story Missions, which follow the resistance to Merryweather Security, while LSA Operations are similar to security contracts or client jobs style missions. Both of these can be enjoyed with three additional players andare very challenging, according to community reviews.

Players can also launch LSA operations by calling Charlie through their in-game smartphone. However, when it comes to earning money back by grinding the new DLC, Trade prices for LSU mission vehicles are high enough currently and can partially pay for the Mammoth Avenger Modification. Keeping an eye out for changes introduced in the LSA Operations is ideal for players as their rewards and difficulty level can vary on a regular basis.
