Rockstar Games releases another new game mode forGrand Theft Auto Online, as well as a week-long celebration offering bonus RP and double cash to players.
Grand Theft Auto 5and its online component came out nearly three years ago, but Rockstar is still hard at work adding new content for players to enjoy. In the latest major update to the game, a new game mode is coming out forGrand Theft Auto Online.
Rockstar is calling the mode “In and Out,” describing it as an adversary mode with gameplay similar toGrand Theft Auto Online’s Capture mode. Attacking players will have to retrieve 8 packages from the defending team’s turf, and attacking players can expect the defense to be well-equipped with a large arsenal of weaponry.
The new In and Out game mode will be available to players on May 3rd, but players can start enjoying “In and Out Week” bonuses now. The week-long celebration will offer double RP and cash for players participating in the week’s playlist, which varies from day to day. The playlist schedule is as follows:
In addition to the reputation and cash bonuses, Ammu-Nation is holding a sale with major discounts on almost everything. Grenades and sticky bombs are 20% off, assault rifle mods and combat machine guns are 25% off, and SMG ammo is 50% off during the sale, which will run all week long. However, unlike prior game modes likeInch by Inch, Rockstar doesn’t appear to be offering any unique cars for this event.
Rockstar’s attempts to keep the game fresh seem to please gamers while also generating substantial revenue for the company. Although it hasn’t released any major single player DLC for the game, the multiplayerGTA Onlinehas generated half a billion dollarsin revenue all on its own. Considering thatGTA Onlineis free to play and that microtransactions are completely optional, this is a particularly substantial achievement. This is in addition to Rockstar selling60 million copies ofGrand Theft Auto V, which surely gave the company a substantial revenue boost.
Grand Theft Auto Onlinedoesn’t show any signs of slowing down anytime soon. Gamers who want to get in on the opportunity to play a new game mode and get extra cash and RP should make sure to log in to the game soon, as the opportunity will end on May 5th.
Grand Theft Auto Vis out now for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
