Updated on Jul 24, 2025, by Scott Vengel:Inazuma has finally come to its concluding days, with each new additional update in the region feeling more and more commonplace. From new characters like Itto and Gorou feeling more familiar to new islands like Seirai and Tsurumi. However, despite it all, an often overlooked part of the fascinating island country, Inazuma’s new bosses and opponents have also left their impact.
La Signora marked the fifth weekly boss to be added to the game, as well as being the first in Inazuma. That said, previous weekly bosses, like Azhdaha, still have a very important influence. As such, this article will be updated to add more clarity to this guide.

To put things simply, players that want to do battle with Azhdaha must complete Historia Antiqua Chapter Act 2: No Mere Stone. Fans can unlock thisZhongli Story Questby using a Story Key, though they must first reach Adventure Rank 40 and finish Historia Antiqua Chapter Act I: Sal Flore and Chapter I Act IV: We Will Be Reunited. Once unlocked, players should work through this Story Quest, and they will gain access to the Beneath the Dragon-Queller Trounce Domain upon its conclusion.

With respect to the location of this Trounce Domain, it can be found under the Dragon-Queller, a very large tree located near Mt. Hulao in Liyue.Genshin Impactplayersthat are confused about the precise position of this location are advised to reference the following video, which also showcases the process for unlocking Azhdaha as a Weekly Boss. Fans may also want to look into some strategies for fighting the Earthshaking Dragon before they charge in, as he is certainly no pushover.
Indeed, Azhdaha has an array of high-damage abilities at his disposal, and players will need to be ready for all of them if they hope to defeat the dragon. One of the deadliest aspects of the Azhdaha encounter is the powerful damage-over-time effect that is applied when a fan is hit by a secondary elemental attack. To counteract this effect, players will need to use a Shield or aGeo character inGenshin Impact, and that must be done while also dodging the boss’s other attacks.

Should the player be hit by one of these attacks, they will quickly lose health at an increased rate in addition to the damage of the initial attack. Bringing a good healer can help to offset this increase in health consumption, especially characters like Jean or Barbara that can heal with their burst.

Each time Azhdaha is fought, he will utilize two elements outside of Geo:Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, and Electro.During phases utilizing these elements, Azhdaha will infuse with the element and send attacks against the player based on the current element infusion.
The first phase starts at 66% HP, in the form of either Hydro or Pyro. The second starts at 33% HP, in the form of either Cyro or Electro. While Azhdaha doesn’t gain immunity to these elements, players should ensure they don’t accidentally create reactions against themselves; Azhdaha’s elements are indicated by the seals displayed on the entrance of the domain.

These elemental attacks will leave a mark, which continuously consumes player health at an increased rate. However,Genshin Impactplayers should be aware that these marks can be removed with a select few characters without using a shield. For one, Jean can remove all marks, making her one of the most versatile characters for the Azhdaha fight when coupled with herrole as a healer. That said, Beidou, Xinyan, Bennett, and Barbara can also remove marks depending on the element.
To note, the rewards that players receive upon defeating Azhdaha are contingent upon the difficulty level that was selected. For instance, fans that tackle Memories: Earthshaking Dragon 4 will have a chance to earn a variety of Gemstones, while those that stick to the first rank can only receive Slivers, Fragments, and Chunks as Character Ascension Materials.
Players can earnGenshin Impact’s Northlander Billetsand Dream Solvent across all difficulties, though, which makes even the lowest levels worth pursuing. Every time the player chooses to fight Azhdaha, they will need to use 30 Original Resin for the first three weekly boss fights in a day, or 60 Original Resin after; players can fight Azhdaha a total of 4 times without replenishing their Resin.
