Genshin Impactfans have noticed a very unusual detail in the recently released Baizhu character demo named Curing the Root Cause. He is the only new five-star character that was released in the ongoing second phase of update 3.6. This Limited Character Banner also features the Cryo bow user Ganyu as one of the five-star characters.
Before each new roster addition,Genshin Impactreleases a set of promotional videos that go deeper into the character’s storyline. Baizhu has been one of the most anticipated characters in the game since he was the first individual to appear with a Dendro Vision during Liyue’s earliest quest lines.

A Reddit user named PusheenMaster has posted an interesting screenshottaken from Baizhu’s character demo. During the whole video, Baizhu can be seen writing various prescriptions for many of his patients. The post reveals that at one point in the video, Baizhu can be seen holding his brush in a very unnatural way. While the majority of fans claim that they did not even notice this little detail, others claim that they thought that the brush slipped out of Baizhu’s hand. Some fans even claim that Baizhu might be using his elemental powers which allow him to control his tools in this weird way.
The post has gathered a lot of attention in the community as it reached over 1.2k upvotes on the game’s official subreddit. Some comments have pointed out that this was not the first time HoYoverse let such a ridiculous animation mistake slip. In one of the earliest character demo’sfeaturing the Geo Archon Zhongli, an NPC can be seen floating or sitting on an invisible chair.
Genshin Impactalso released a story teaser for Changsheng, Baizhu’s loyal snake who can be seen wrapped around his neck. Even though many fans suspected that the two were just good friends, the video confirmed that Changsheng made a divine contract with Baizhu. This mythical creature taught Baizhu the secret art of healing which helps him cure even the most critically ill patients.
However, in exchange for these special powers,Baizhu is constantly giving away his life forcewhich is why he’s always in poor physical condition. This contract has been transferred from generation to generation and Baizhu is rumored to be the last one in a long line of doctors. Players who want to add this Dendro user to their roster have approximately two weeks to do so as his banner is scheduled to expire around May 23.
