A gamer has made a figure of Kratos in hisGod of War Ragnarokbattle armor out of an unusual material. The material in question is pipe cleaners, and the gamer posted their unique Kratos figure on social media. In just a few short hours, the post received a lot of attention in the form of upvotes and comments on Reddit asking how and why the titularGod of Warwas made in this way.
The news of this fan art came just a short time afterGod of War Ragnarokwon the Game of the Yearaward from PlayStation Blog, in addition to winning awards in the soundtrack, story, art direction, and graphics categories. With plenty of attention on the continued adventures of Kratos, Atreus, and the remaining Norse pantheon, all eyes are still on Santa Monica Studios' latest hit.

A Redditor by the username CrispyFrenchFry took their talents and designed the formerGod of Warin the LEGO art style. This, in turn, served as the template for their pipe cleaner figurine. Though they had to remove some detailed aspects of Kratos' battle armor fromGod of War Ragnarokin order for the figure to hold together,CrispyFrenchFry was able to make the pipe cleaners work and completed their project for all to see. The post received over 4.2k upvotes on r/gaming within the first seven hours of the post, and the comments ranged from praise to curiosity. Though questions remained unanswered as to why CrispyFrenchFry made Kratos out of pipe cleaners, the majority of the comments praised them for their creativity.
CrispyFrenchFry opted to give the pipe cleaner Kratos figurethe signature Leviathan Axe, which Kratos can hold with either hand or be sheathed on the back holster. The Leviathan Axe has since become synonymous with Kratos in the current games, just as the Blades of Chaos had done from previous entries in the series. With plenty of hafts to choose from and some runic attack options to add to the mix, the axe has quickly become a staple part of Kratos' arsenal since it was first seen in action in 2018’sGod of War.
God of War Ragnarokwas featured prominently at the 2022 edition of The Game Awards earlier this month. Both it and FromSoftware’sElden Ringdominated the majority of award categories they were in. These honors inspired other artists to merge the two games together for their own fan projects, such as this image of a playerusing theElden Ringcharacter creator to make Kratosas an avatar, with the Blades of Chaos as their two swords. With more likely to come from theGod of Warseries in the future, the contributions of art from fans and gamers will not slow down anytime soon.
