Call of Duty: Infinite Warfarenarrative director Taylor Kurosaki confirms thatGame of Thronesstar Kit Harington is in the game as its primary antagonist.

The past few entries in theCall of Dutyfranchise has seen the addition of various celebrities to the cast. FromKevin Spacey inAdvanced Warfareto Jeff Goldblum inBlack Ops III, there seems to be no shortage of Hollywood stars to play characters inCall of Dutygames. The upcomingCall of Duty: Infinite Warfarewill be no different in that regard, as it’s been confirmed thatGame of Thronesstar Kit Haringtonhas joined the cast as the game’s primary antagonist.

Harington, best known for his role as Jon Snow on the hit HBO seriesGame of Thrones, was confirmed to be the main villain earlier today by narrative director ofCall of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Taylor Kurosaki. Kurosaki had this to say about Harington’s role inInfinite Warfare:

“Our story is about an epic showdown of opposing forces, and Kit immersed himself into the role and truly became the embodiment of the enemy, the Settlement Defense Front. We can’t wait for fans to see Kit play an entirely different kind of character.”

As some may know, this won’t be Harington’s first video game role. He previously returned to the role of Jon Snow inTelltale’s episodicGame of Thronesseries, though his performance in that game garnered mixed reviews, with some critics accusing him of sounding disinterested compared to the other voice actors.Call of Duty: Infinite Warfareis a much higher profile project than Telltale’sGame of Thronesseries, though, so hopefully Harington puts forth his best effort when portraying the game’s antagonist.

In the meantime, Harington isn’t the only celebrity influence present inCall of Duty: Infinite Warfare. In fact, film director Guy Ritchie is also involved in the project, in a production support role. Ritchie’s exact duties or the amount of creative control he has is unknown, but he may be able to call on his experience in Hollywood to refineInfinite Warfare’s story and cut-scenes.

With more details onInfinite Warfare’scampaign coming at E3, perhaps Kit Harington and Guy Ritchie will appear at E3 to present the game. Regardless, it will still be interesting to learn of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s story and characters, and if the game’s E3 presentation is impressive enough, perhaps some of thehate for the titlewill subside.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfarewill be available on November 4th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
