A new season ofFortnitemeans new changes to the map of the season prior. With the latest season ofFortnitedebuting a new storyline for the Looper and the characters that inhabit the island, Chapter 3, Season 4 has introduced some changes to the iconic Chapter 3 map. These changes are both big and small, changing some iconic points of interest (POI).
It’s unsurprising to see the map withsome differences and new additionsthanks to the inclusion of a newFortniteseason. However, these latest changes could spell doom and gloom, considering theFortniteChapter 3 map is being invaded by an invasive chrome material. These changes are only the beginning, as each season ofFortnitechanges the map with each update.

8Original Loot Lake Returns
There are many named POIs inFortnite, but one of the most iconic locations from Chapter 1, Loot Lake, remains unnamed in Chapter 3. This enormous lake has a center island and isripe for many cross-map battlesfrom sniper fire and boat wars. Many fans of the originalFortnitemap will be excited to see the return of the iconic Loot Lake house.
There is a lot of history behind this location, and to see Loot Lake return in its prime for Chapter 3, Season 4 is a welcome surprise. Hopefully, with such a large map with so many locations, Loot Lake won’t draw too much attention.

7Herald’s Sanctum
Long gone is the location of Sanctuary, the home base of The Seven. After the arrival of the mysterious chrome goo, Sanctuary has been overtaken by Herald’s Sanctum. As of the release ofFortniteChapter 3, Season 4, not much is known about the Herald, but they are far from good news, considering the map isslowly changing to chrome.

Herald’s Sanctum is rather dangerous, as the Herald lurks there as a hostile NPC and powerful boss character. There are also a lot of spectacular chrome structures, as well as a rather ominous chrome whirlwind that can suck players up.
6Cloudy Condos
Much ofFortnite’s Chapter 3 map is taken up by sand. The desert area is rather unique toFortnite, and a fan favorite for its variety of different locations, and open-spaced areas to traverse. One location from Chapter 3 was called Condo Canyon and has since been renamed Cloudy Condos.
Several buildings in Cloudy Condos remain the same, other than the fact that they have now been raised slightly into the sky. This is an innovative way to escape the chrome, as the buildings are not touching land and therefore cannot be infected. It makes for some height advantages on theplaying field against other playerstoo.

5Shimmering Shrine
When the Lucasfilm character of Indiana Jones was introduced to theFortniteisland in Chapter 3, Season 3, he came with his own centric POI. Shuffled Shrines was a great location, which featured a puzzle to be solved for rare loot and gold. With a new seasoncomes changes, as Shuffled Shrines is now Shimmering Shrine.
The area remains mostly the same, other than the threat of spreading chrome. The source resides at Herald’s Sanctum, and within the first week, the chrome has changed a location to Shimmering Shrine, complete with chrome trees.

4Lustrous Lagoon
Ever since the first season of Chapter 3, Spider-Man swung onto the island with the Daily Bugle POI. This location was brilliant for many on all sides, as there were advantages from within Daily Bugle and advantages outside it. This comes from the tall building inside, and the great cover of a rocky mountain surface from the outside.
As Chapter 3, Season 3 came to an end, the Daily Bugle was altered into Lazy Lagoon. Now, it is known as Lustrous Lagoon. Chrome has already invaded this location, and Blackheart’s ship, the Driftwood, has become airborne thanks to balloons, making for someinteresting battlesfrom above and below.

3Rave Cave
One of the newest locations toFortnitewas Rave Cave. This area was a celebration of The Seven and the Loopers’ defeat of IO, the big bad of theFortnitelore. In Rave Cave, players could enjoy a good dance with NPCs and other friendly players, with a plethora of loot and loud music in the cave.

Although the location remains relatively unchanged, Rave Cave has now seen the arrival of the Flairship. Hovering over the north side of Rave Cave, this repurposed IO Airship has plenty of loot and can be accessed by ziplines and used for the high ground.
2Fort Jonesy
Fortnitelore is always expanding with each new season. A location named The Joneses was introduced for Chapter 3, Season 1, and provided Agent Jones and his Snapshots with their own home. It was a society for these characters and a sanctuary where they could be safe.
As time progresses in the repeating loop ofFortnite’s island, the Joneses have come a long way from simple shacks and tomato farms. Fort Jonesy shows the innovation they have made, as they have constructed a better base of operations, raised with wooden pillars and walkways for height advantages.

1Reality Tree
Chapter 3, Season 3 ofFortniteboasted a new area altogether known as Reality Falls. This area was part of the Vibin’ season, and many trulysaw it as a “vibe”. It was a stunning area, with a beautiful tree complete with blue leaves. Players could hop around the tree and its area with glowing blue mushrooms. However, Chapter 3, Season 4 leaves Reality Falls in autumn, and it has since been renamed Reality Tree.
This location still has plenty of glowing blue mushrooms to hop around on, but it certainly lacks the flair and beauty of the season prior. The tree is all but dead thanks to Autumn, and the surrounding trees have turned red. It’s a dry area now, with alacking of lush greensand blues.

Fortniteis free-to-play on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
