Fortniteis deep into its Marvel crossover. The Avengers are fighting foes not only in their own game, but also alongside the X-Men onFortnite’s map. If theleakedFortniteVenom skinis anything to go by, this may be the case for a while.
It’s safe to say this is one of the biggest crossoversFortnitehas done so far, and it will probably get bigger. Artwork and other promotional material for the game has hinted at Galactus, one of the biggest threats in the Marvel universe, whose arrival would be a big deal inFortnite. Heralding the eater of worlds are his Gorger machines, taking the form of powerful enemies on the map. Luckily, there’s an easy way to find these machines and put them down.

Step 1: Finding the Gorger
The first step in taking down a Gorger is finding one. A lot ofthe challenges forFortnite’s Season 4, Week 3involve traveling to specific locations, but this isn’t that simple. The Gorger’s spawn location is randomized, so finding it quickly isn’t easy. The spawn is indicated by a column of red light that quickly vanishes, so the best way to find the Gorger is to stay in the air after jumping out of the Battle Bus. It’s best to do this in an area that gives a good view of the whole map, so either at an edge or the center of the island.
Step 2: Prepare for Battle
The beacon only glows for a short time, so mark the spot as soon as possible. After that, drop somewhere near the Gorger and find a weapon or two to get into the battle. Shotguns are not a bad choice for this method, especially since it involves getting up close and personal. While players likely won’t bedealing damage with gas cans, they may have to be utilize an uncommon way of fighting.
Step 3: First the Drones, Then the Gorger
The Gorger hits hard, but it telegraphs its attacks with a laser sight reminiscent ofGuardians fromThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Stay on the move to not get blasted. Building wooden barriers is a good idea, as they can absorb one hit before getting destroyed. Eventually, the Gorger will release some drones, and if players blast one down it will become a weapon.
The weapon is a powerful handheld laser cannon that will drop the Gorger’s health very quickly. Were it easier to get and keep, it could wind up near the top of theFortniteweapons tier list. However, the cannon has two firing modes. The semiautomatic mode used by tapping the firing button is the one to use, as charging the cannon unleashes a powerful blast but uses it up in the process.
It may take a couple tries, but this can be a significantly easier fight using the laser cannon. SincetheFortnitecrossover is part of the Marvel canon, any player who takes down this foe has canonically helped take down Galactus.
