Fallout 76’s Pepper Shaker weapon is a highly coveted unique reward from the Meat Week Seasonal Event. The plan to craft the weapon and the weapon itself can be traded among players inFallout 76, so even when Meat Week isn’t available the Pepper Shaker can still be obtained.
However, even during the Meat Week Seasonal Event, it can be an extremely expensive item to buy from other players because of its low drop chance from the event. Overall, this one-of-a-kind weapon is more of acollector’s item inFallout 76, but players can still get plenty of use out of it with the right build.

What SPECIAL Perks to Use for Pepper Shaker Builds in Fallout 76
The Pepper Shaker is both a heavy weapon and a shotgun, which means that it benefits from both of their related perk cards. Although, most of these perks are in the Strength category and players may not have too many Strength perk slots to spare for all of these perks. However, there are a few additional perks in other SPECIAL slots that players can likely equip. As far as damage and utility perks that apply to the Pepper Shaker players can choose from the following perks:
Luck Perks:
Not only does the Stabilized perk give the Pepper Shaker armor penetration while wearing Power Armor, but wearing a particular Power Armor suit can provide the weapon with additional buffs. Specifically, wearing theStrangler Heart Power Armorwill make every pellet fired by the Pepper Shaker deal bonus Acid/Poison damage.
Because the pepper shaker fires multiple projectiles at once, it can simultaneously apply multiple instances of the Strangler Heart’s Acid damage each time it fires. With the single barrel weapon mod, each shot of the Pepper Shaker can potentially apply 16 stacks of Acid damage that will deal continuous damage over 10 seconds. Strangler Heart Power Armor can be an expensive investment, but it significantly helps to conserve ammo when using the Pepper Shaker because of the damage it adds.
The God Roll Legendary Weapon Effects for Fallout 76’s Pepper Shaker
Thelegendary weapon effectsthat players should look for in the first-star slot is arguably Quad. Bloodied is the meta for legendary effects that provide immediate damage buffs, but since these buffs are all percentage-based it doesn’t amount to much extra damage for this particular weapon. Two-shot used to be a good pick, but instead of doubling the projectiles fired it only adds one additional projectile, which again, doesn’t amount to much extra damage.
For second and third-star legendary effects, it comes down to whether players intend to use the Pepper Shaker withFallout 76’s version of VATSor not. If so, then any of the VATS-related legendary effects are the way to go. Otherwise, reload speed, weight reduction, and durability legendary effects are always a good alternative.
Even having only one rank of the Enforcer perk card gives this weapon a great chance to cripple targets, so players can opt for a different legendary effect than extra limb damage. Since the Pepper Shaker is a fully automatic weapon, its capability of crippling enemy limbs is where it shines. This weapon is especially useful for breaking a Scorchbeast’s wings to force them to land when they are in flight, or breaking a target’s legs to immobilize them.
With a quad Pepper Shaker, strangler heart power armor, and the rightperk build inFallout 76, players can make this weapon relatively powerful. Otherwise, without heavily investing in damage buffs for the Pepper Shaker, it’s still great for crippling enemy limbs and tagging enemies in large battles like Public Events.
