Emote Wheels are a popular feature in online games, as it was a great relief to theDestiny 2community when the Multi-Emote wheel was revealed. Those players, then, should also be excited to hear thatFallout 76also has an emote wheel, as seen in one of the game’s recent instruction videos revealed during Bethesda’s E3 press conference.
As seen in the screenshot below, the emote wheel contains a number of emotes that could be beneficial in communicating with other Vault 76 residents. Considering the multiplayer aspects ofFallout 76are clearly going to be a big deal, it makes sense for the game to include this feature, and hopefully, it will prove useful to the players.

The wheel appears to include ways to signal approval or disapproval, follow or run, expression, invites, and more. As seen below, there’s even a way to express that the PC is looking to buy something, with that something supposedly being revealed in the emote wheel’s expand option. However, sinceFallout 76isfour times larger thanFallout 4,it remains possible that interaction with other players could be slim at times - or limited in particular areas.
Although Todd Howard confirmed that players can have a single-player, traditionalFalloutexperience withFallout 76,the game is confirmed to be online-only, which means players may need this wheel at some point while playing. However, it’s worth mentioning that thelatest story detailsreveal a deep, personal story that may alleviate those who have qualms with the Internet connectivity requirement.

At the time of this writing, it is unknown whetherFallout 76will contain any kind of premium emote or microtransactions. The inclusion of an emote wheel and the premium emotes found in other games would suggest that this is a possibility. However, not enough is known aboutFallout 76or its emote wheel to confirm or deny this. While this may cause some alarm for fans of the franchise, it’s worth mentioning that Bethesda would not intentionally tarnish the franchise’s name, so unfavorable microtransactions seem highly unlikely.
Fallout 76releases July 02, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
