Now thatFallout 4’sFar Harbor DLChas finally arrived, it’s safe to say that plenty of the open world title’s fans are have been delving into the expansion’s contents since its launch yesterday. Of course, there are some gamers who might choose to explore the game’s new area in a rather unconventional way, such as YouTuber TheyCallMeConor’s excursion through theFallout 4expansion’s map simply to show that it takes a total of 30 minutes travel across it end-to-end on foot.
As many fans might be aware, prior to Far Harbor’s release, Bethesda described the add-on as beinglarger thanOblivion’s biggest DLC, which was Shivering Isles. Furthermore, developers went on to proclaim the Maine-based location inFallout 4to be the most gigantic landmass that the studio had ever produced up to this point in time.
While some might argue that TheyCallMeConor’s somewhat short time-lapse walk across the map diminishes Bethesda’s claims about Far Harbor’s size, it’s important to note that he doesn’t stick to just walking, as his character sprints, jumps, and even swims at certain junctures, which not only speeds up and slows down the pacing, but also affects his routes. However, as seen in the video below, it’s a tad disheartening to watch him only take 30 minutes to do so.

AlthoughFallout 4’s Far Harbor might be a tad smaller than what Bethesda had hyped it to be, it’s not to say that its purported20-plus hours of materials, including the actual quests, weapons, enemies, and overall content is bad by any stretch of the imagination. As a matter of fact, fans who haven’t taken on the DLC yet would do well to get a glimpse of what’s being offered withBethesda’s “making of” video for the expansion.
Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time that the YouTuber TheyCallMeConor has done a comprehensive walk-through for a video game and posted it on the popular video-sharing platform. As it happens, he’s done one for the likes ofGrand Theft Auto 5,The Division, andJust Cause 3, which took upwards of 8 hours.
Of course, as is the case with practically everything in this world of ours, size isn’t everything. And when it comes to artistic mediums such as video games, the final product should be judged on quality, not on quantity. So even thoughFallout 4’s Far Harbor DLC potentially contains a map that’s a mite smaller than advertised, most fans will more than likely go on to be satisfied with the end results, especially considering the fact that it’s meant to be viewed as an expansion in and of itself, and not a part of the base game.
