Bethesda releases a trailer for the upcomingAutomatronDLC expansion forFallout 4, while also announcing the expansion’s release date for March 22nd.

Those that have already thoroughly explored the Boston Commonwealth inFallout 4are probably ready for some new experiences in the game. As announced by Bethesda earlier today, anyone looking for something new to do inFallout 4won’t have to wait much longer, as theAutomatronDLC will be available on March 22nd.

Simultaneously releasing across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One,Fallout 4’sAutomatronDLCwill be adding fresh story content to the critically-acclaimed game, as it sees players contending with a new antagonist named The Mechanist and his army of evil robots. The trailer for the DLC also seems to indicate that players will begin this new quest after being approached by a mysterious well-meaning robot looking to stop The Mechanist’s plans.

Along with new characters and story quests, theAutomatronDLC forFallout 4will also allow players to build their own robots. By destroying The Mechanist’s creations, players will collect the parts necessary to build said robots, which can be further customized with paint schemes and voice customization options for those that are at least level 15.

SinceFallout 4: Automatron’s achievementsappeared in the game’s Xbox One achievement hub a couple of days ago, many anticipated that it would release soon. Previously, Bethesda only confirmed thatAutomatronwould be available in March, so it’s nice to know exactly when players can look forward to expanding theirFallout 4adventure.

Anyone that is planning to purchaseFallout 4’s first major add-on on March 22nd should be aware that it will be available as a standalone purchase for $10. However, gamers that purchasedFallout 4’s season passwill be able to downloadAutomatronas soon as it becomes available next Thursday.

Judging by the trailer, it does seem likeAutomatronwill be worth the price of admission forFallout 4enthusiasts. After all,Automatronis bringing to the table brand new story content as well as the ability to build and customize one’s own robot companions, which should give players plenty more to do inFallout 4’s Bostonian wasteland.
