Summary

Endless Dungeonis a wildly hectic tower defense game mashed up with a roguelike. Players begin the game as Sweeper – a janitor who gets rescued by a soldier named Zed. Together, they escape the dungeon only to die and get resurrected in the Saloon.

It is here that heroes from across the galaxy gather as they, too, are trapped in an endless loop. Players begin with three heroes, but the further they get into the ever-expanding dungeon, the more heroes they can unlock. There are eight playable characters altogether inEndless Dungeon, and they all fall under two classes: Hand Gun and Heavy Gun.

8Sweeper

Hand Gun: Sprayer

Sweeper is the starting hero of the show, a janitor who gets thrown into the action. He’s not as charismatic as the janitor fromControlorAlan Wake 2, Ahti, but Sweeper can hold his own in a fight. He is a Hand Gun character and starts with the Sprayer, which is like a machine gun. His normal skill will spray out a cone that will slow enemies, while his ultimate will both slow and knock them back. His active abilities aren’t great, but his passive skill can increase the fire rate of turrets in the room he is in, which is not terrible.

7Bunker

Hand Gun: Boomstick

Bunker is one of the first three characters that players can unlock in the game. Bunkeris a robotand is also a Hand Gun type. Instead of the Sprayer like Sweeper, Bunker begins with a Boomstick, which acts like a shotgun, and it’s not a bad one for a video game.

Bunker’s best attribute is his defense, and all abilities center around his shield. His normal special will send shockwaves with his shield to hit enemies, while his ultimate attack will make him impervious to attacks at the cost of standing still. His passive ability allows Bunker to dish out more damage every time he gets hit, but these attack boosts are only temporary.

6Cartie

Heavy Gun: Gatling

Cartie is a little bug researcher at the Saloon who sort of looks like a moth. Don’t be fooled by her size because Cartie is a Heavy Gun hero, meaning she literally carries the biggest guns around. Her starting gun is the Gatling, which will fire bullets at an alarming rate.

Her normal skill will trap enemies and stun them for a period, while her ultimate is a lot cooler. She’ll turn into a ball and start destroying fools, sort of likeSamus’ Morph Ball power in theMetroidseries. Finally, Cartie’s passive ability can boost electric-type attacks if other heroes are packing any electrical weapons like the Shocker inEndless Dungeon.

5Blaze

Heavy Gun: Huntin’ Rifle

Blaze is another Heavy Gun character, like Cartie, and appears to be a robot like Bunker. Unlike Bunker, though, Blaze has four arms and isdressed up like a cowboy, sort of like how the robots dress in SteamWorld Heist, which is a great space-based strategy game.

Blaze uses a different gun, too, the Huntin’ Rifle, which has a pretty slow fire rate. Blaze has a unique starting skill that gives him multiple uses before cooldown via mines. His ultimate will send homing missiles at enemies in a fiery blast of vengeance, and his passive ability will enhance all explosions. It’s safe to say then that Blaze lives up to his name.

4Fassie

Fassie begins as the bartender at the Saloon and will offer players some friendly advice before getting in on the action. Of the many Hand Gun types in the game, Fassie is by far the fastest. Like Sweeper, Fassie begins with the machine gun-like Sprayer. His strength lies in support and deception, which is what any good bartender is trained in.

His basic skill will see him throw cocktails at teammates to increase their strength, while the ultimate ability will send drinks to enemies, causing them to rage out on each other. Finally, his passive ability will increase Fassie’s Spiciness and Wit stats for every enemy that is in the room.

3Comrade

Comrade is probably going to be the final recruit players gain inEndless Dungeon. It’s easy to see why, as he is one of the strongest and a great addition to anyco-op party. First, Comrade can produce his own turrets, which are stronger than the player’s starting ones.

He can place two anywhere he wants and change their placement at will without any penalties. His ultimate will create a turret that players can mount to fire away at enemies for a period. Finally, his ultimate is killer because it can restore resource generators, which often get attacked by enemy mobs.

2Zed

Zed is the supporting character who will rescue Sweeper inEndless Dungeon’sintro. Zed is the final Heavy Gun hero of the group and is also the strongest as far as attack power goes. Zed’s design makes her look a bit like the child ofBrigitte and Tracer from theOverwatchseries.

Zed’s basic skill will send a sonic wave to hurt enemies, while her ultimate uses music to increase the attack power of allies around and also weakens enemy defenses. Her passive is similar to Bunker’s, except that Zed’s damage increases temporarily for every kill she gets.

1Shroom

Shroom is a Hand Gun hero, which is not that important to what type of character they truly are. Shroom is the only healer of the game, making them an automatic MVP. True, Shroom does have a low attack power, but unlike a lot of healing characters in games, Shroom can manage on their own because of their high defense.

For abilities, Shroom can throw things called Souls at allies to heal HP. The ultimate is even better, though, as it will create a healing circle wherever Shroom goes, which even heals the user. Lastly, the passive ability grants Shroom a Soul for every ten kills they get, allowing players to farm for healing materials essentially. In a hectic hybrid action game likeEndless Dungeon,a healer characterlike Shroom is necessary.
