Updated July 03, 2025, by Hamza Haq: With the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree, players are discovering anew what it was like to discover a hand-crafted world by FromSoftware. There are new weapon types to experiment with, new armor to try out, and, most importantly, a whole new world to explore. SOTE blends Elden Ring’s open world and the looping, interconnected level design of Dark Souls 1, and it is glorious.

How to Prepare for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC
Shadow of the Erdtreecontent is balanced around a late-game character, meaning anyone below level 100 may find it challenging. While Soulsborne veterans are free to attempt a harder run, reaching level 120is recommended for a more comfortable experience for regular players.
