InElden Ring, some hidden locations don’t take much effort to reach at all, while others canremain tantalizingly out of reachuntil certain conditions are met. The Chapel of Anticipation is one of these hidden locations, one that requires players to find a key item and use it at the correct portal in an out-of-the-way location.
It’s worth getting back to the Chapel of Anticipation location inElden Ringto progress Nepheli’s questline, to get materials you couldn’t access at the start of the game, and to get revenge on the Grafted Scion. Defeating this boss unlocks a Faith sword and one of the best shields in the game, so be sure to find the Chapel of Anticipation if youplan to jump intoShadow of the Erdtreewith a Faith-based melee build.

Elden Ring: Chapel of Anticipation Location
The Chapel of Anticipation is, funnily enough, found right at the start of the game. Literally – in case you forgot, the Chapel of Anticipation is where you first spawn in after watching the intro cutscene forElden Ring. But it’s not quite so simple to return there. You don’t get a Site of Grace at this location when starting the game, even if you do manage to defeat the Grafted Scion.
You can see the Chapel of Anticipation from Stormveil Castle, and many parts of Limgrave, butgetting to this out-of-the-wayElden Ringlocationisn’t as simple as walking there.

There’s no invisible bridge, let alone a regular one, and you can’t take a secret cave entrance like the path to the Church of Dragon Communion. Instead, you must take a portal – one that requires a special kind ofStonesword Key.
How To Get To The Chapel of Anticipation
There is only one way to get back to the Chapel of Anticipationafter being killed by the Grafted Scionor falling off the ledge afterward. Head to eastern Liurnia of the Lakes and look for a large rise with towers and a forested path leading up its western side – this is the Four Belfries, home to several Waygates that can teleport you to secret areas inElden Ring.
Ride up the path all the way to the top to find the Four Belfries Site of Grace and a chest containing a free Imbued Stonesword Key. Then, mount up and ride down the slope.

Twoother Imbued Stonesword Keyscan be found in the game – on a body in the Raya Lucaria Academy rooftops, and behind one of the sealed doorways in Sellia, Town of Sorcery. To get to the Chapel of Anticipation quickly, make sure to use the one you get for free at the correct portal.
There are four Belfries here, but only three house portals to other areas of the Lands Between (and beyond). Each portal has an Imp Statue to its left, and a message to its right hinting at where the Waygate will take you. Look for the Waygate with the message “Precipice of Anticipation”.

Once you’ve found it, interact with the Imp Statue to use your Imbued Stonesword Key, and watch as the Waygate activates. Then, getting back to the Chapel of Anticipation location is as simple as accepting the transporter prompt and waiting for the loading screen to finish.
You will be teleported to the other side of the Chapel of Anticipation location from the game’s spawn point, on the side that you are forced to drop down if you beat the boss on first encounter.

You will have tobeat the Grafted Scionto get back to the Chapel itself, and find the Stormhawk King ashes for Nepheli Loux’s quest.
