The piece features the character in her Goddess of Rot form that players face off against inElden Ring, with her butterfly wings literally popping off of the canvas. According to Griffgirl777, the wings were made out of plastic wrap and acrylic paint while the single butterflies were made of cardstock that was layered on top. The artist stated that it took them approximately 10-14 hours to complete the piece, showing a good amount of patience and dedication for what is a beautiful work depicting Malenia. They also mentioned that they will be hanging the painting over their gaming set up once they finish moving into their new apartment.
