Elden Ring’slore is both expansive and captivating. Its primary flaw — or perhaps its greatest strength — lies in how it’s presented. Numerous facets of the game’s lore remain veiled in mystery, concealed within cryptic messages and item descriptions. Players who dedicate time to unraveling the lore will discovertales of lost realms. Across the Lands Between, players can uncover a myriad of characters originating from these lost regions beyond the map. Among them, the Bell Bearing Hunters from Eochaid stand out as the most dreadful and troublesome enemies.
Hailing from the long-vanished domain of Eochaid, a society that embraced an ascetic lifestyle and possessed the skill to manipulate weapons through the power of their minds, Bell Bearing Hunters now roam the Lands Between. Operating during the night, they target merchants and lurk near merchant NPCs. Defeating Bell Bearing Hunters rewards players with valuable bell bearings, crucial for unlocking trades such as various boluses, beast bones, and more. Here’s a guide to locating every Bell Bearing Hunter inElden Ring.

Warmaster’s Shack in Limgrave
The first Bell Bearing Hunter is found in the Warmaster’s Shack, located east ofStormveil Castle in Limgrave, the initial region where players spawn inElden Ring. To reach the Warmaster’s Shack, head east from the Stormhill Shack grace site, where players meet Roderika. Run past a group of Kaiden warriors to find the Warmaster’s Shack. This shack is home to Knight Bernahl, who sells many powerful Ashes of War.
Church of Vows in East Liurnia
The second Bell Bearing Hunter spawns in the Church of Vows located in the Eastern Liurnia of the Lakes. The route to the Church of Vows is straightforward: simply descend the stone slabs west of the Lake-Facing Cliffs site of grace and continue north until reaching the Liurnia Artist’s Shack. North of this Artist’s Shack, there extends a long stretch of stony cliff. Use Torrent to traverse the cliff, and then proceed along the path to arrive at the Church of Vows.
In the Church of Vows, players will encounterMiriel, the Pastor of Vows. Miriel imparts knowledge of sorceries and incantations while sharing intriguing facts about the second Elden Lord Radagon, Queen Marika, and Rennala. Visiting the church during the night will summon the Bell Bearing Hunter. If the Bell Bearing Hunter is not spawning, players will have to exhaust all dialogue by talking to Miriel and then resting at the site of grace outside the church during nighttime.

Isolated Merchant’s Shack in West Dragonbarrow
On the western edge of Dragonbarrow, an Isolated Merchant can be found tending to his business next to a shack. However, venturing into this shack at nighttime, when the Isolated Merchant is absent, may lead to a perilous encounter with a Bell Bearing Hunter. To locate the Isolated Merchant, travel to the Dragonbarrow West site of grace and follow the northwest path to reach the Isolated Merchant Shack at the end. Be careful of monstrous dogs in this area.
For players who haven’t unlocked Dragonbarrow, they can use the secret waypoint portal north of the Third Church of Marika to reachthe Bastial Sanctum. From there, proceed to the Minor Erdtree in the south. Take the Spiritspring behind the Erdtree to arrive at Fort Faroth. Here, players can discover one of the best talismans inElden Ring. Head west from Fort Faroth, navigate past the dragons, and eventually reach the Dragonbarrow West grace site.

Hermit Merchant’s Shack in Altus Plateau
The last Bell Bearing Hunter boss is located in the Hermit Merchant’s Shack, perched on a small ridge north of the Outer Wall Battleground grace site in theAltus Plateauregion. This grace site is located to the north of the area where players face Margit, The Fell Omen for the second time. Killing Margit in this location will reward players with a stamina-boosting talisman.
To reach the Outer Wall Battleground, head east and ascend the rundown staircase. Then, follow the path going northwest to locate the Hermit Merchant’s Shack. Be careful not to take the northern uphill path, as it may lead to a confrontation with aDeathbird boss.

Why is a Bell Bearing Hunter not spawning?
Even if you know where each Bell Bearing Hunter is located, facing them is a different challenge. Unlike most bosses, Bell Bearing Hunters require specific conditions to spawn. Firstly, ensure it isnighttimewhen approaching their location. you’re able to change the time of day by resting and passing time at a nearby Site of Grace, usually close to the boss.
However, even during nighttime, there may be instances in which the Bell Bearing Hunter fails to spawn. In such scenarios, consider resting again to reset the surroundings, or exhaust all dialogues with themerchant NPC. If the merchant NPC is not in their expected location upon leaving the Site of Grace, be prepared for the impending battle with the Bell Bearing Hunter. These warriors of Eochaid can be tough to crack because of their esoteric attack patterns. Like with anyElden Ringboss, patience is key. With enough time, players can get used to Bell Bearing Hunter’s attacks.
