Given EA’s shift away from its agreements withFIFAand its change in the title name, the anticipation as to which new football game fans will turn their attention is yet to be seen. Despite the maintenance of licenses of multiple leagues, players, and teams,FIFA’s announcement of plans for a new game of their own is sure to leave fans with options.

This may be seen as a positive from the perspective of some, as this could potentially open up the doors for more competition with more football games from new developers. While there is no indication of how much more fans will be able to experience inEA Sports FC, there are a plethora of additions that many wish to see.
5Advanced Manager Career Mode
Despite the vast amount of improvements within theFIFAfranchise and its career mode over the years, many fans feel that there is still much to be done. With similar football simulation games such asFootball Manager, there are elements that EA has used for inspiration but not in its most realistic fashion. While features such as dialogue and communication between managers and players, press conferences, post-match interviews, and negotiation meetings are certainly present, a large majority of this is either scripted and repetitive or lacks many variations.
This is one of many fans' main complaints about each installment in theFIFAfranchise, as it is felt that there is a great deal of potential for the games to have a full-fledged level of realism. In order to improve this mode, adhering to fans' wishes such as redesigning kits and stadiums every season for real football teams, andpushing the level of realism to the likes of the aforementionedFootball Manager, will aid in doing so. Considering the loss of the FIFA rights and label, EA has a chance to push the next football entry to its greatest lengths, and in turn, maintain its player base.

4Advanced Player Career Mode
Along with the standard manager mode, the player career mode is one of the modes that needs a massive overhaul this time around.FIFA 23managed to include some improvements in areas that were pleasing to fans, such as the implementation of RPG-like elements with a new personality system that can ultimately determine players' attributes. This is also alongside the addition of new cutscenes once featured in a new team’s starting lineup for the first time, or when signing for a new club.

While these are certainly the innovations that are positive for the future of EA’s football games, the lack of features such as genuine player contracts and renewals, post-match interviews for created players, voice lines, fellow player relationships such as EA’sUFC 4, and the missing customization features keep it from reaching its greatest level. Despite the vast amount of players engaging inFIFA’s Ultimate Team game mode, EA developersmust focus on offline modes for fans who prefer its single-player features.
3In-Depth Customization
As FIFA will be stepping away from its association with EA for any future titles, it could very well result in an extensive level of customization in all of its offline modes. WhileEA has been working on a deal to purchase the rights and licenses of the English Premier League, there is no guarantee that every single team outside of this league will have their licenses maintained. This is one of the main reasons why theFIFAfranchise was a massive success over the years, managing to defeatPro Evolution Soccer, now known aseFootball, as kits, club crests, stadiums, and names were unofficial.
On this occasion, EA now has multiple reasons to return to its original roots by allowing players to edit and customize players and real teams, while also usingPro Evolution Soccer’s “Edit Mode” as inspiration. Fans must be able to have the freedom to tailor their experience to their liking, now that EA is now at a disadvantage compared to the next license holders of FIFA regardless of future acquisitions.

2Online Career Mode
One of the biggest requests among fans of the franchise is the inclusion of an online career mode, similar to the other online modes available to players currently. This has been a rumor among the community in regard to the upcomingEA Sports FCtitle, but there have been no reveals of what the game has to offer yet.
Whether this will be in the form of a PvP online league which includes players controlling each team going up against each other, or a co-op private league of players against the AI is a question on the lips of many fans. With its inevitable showcase on the horizon, anticipation for this rumor becoming a reality continues to build.

1Commentary Variation/Options
The omission of Martin Tyler and Alan Smith paired as a commentary team has been a huge miss for the most recent installments of the franchise. While the addition of Derek Rae as a new commentator has been a great move for the gameplay experience, the lack of variety and options in commentary teams has been detrimental toFIFA’s realism. Previously inFIFA 13, players could have eitherMartin Tyler and Alan Smith commentatingover a match, or Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend on another.
This gave a good level of balance between each match, offering different voice lines and atmospheres, but recent titles have not taken this approach. WithEA Sports FCset as the next fresh start and focus for EA, allowing former or new commentary teams to join alongside Derek Rae would be highly beneficial.
