Dying Light 2: Stay Humanwas a sequel that many fans of the original had been waiting a while for. WithTechland’s new game selling 5 million copiesrecently, it’s obviously gone down well among the community, even if many felt it was lacking in certain areas. The studio has also been discussing the longevity of its game, with DLC coming and more in the pipeline. Also discussed were plans to add a New Game Plus mode, and update 1.3.0 implements the latter.

The latest patch forDying Light 2should have started rolling out by now. According to the patch notes, there were a number of additions to the game, as well as tweaks and bug fixes. Perhaps the one that players have been waiting for the most, outside some additional DLC, is the aforementioned New Game Plus. As with all modes like this in any release, once the game has been completed, it can be replayed with some “modified game parameters.” One of the ways a second run will change inDying Light 2is with new enemy behaviors, new objects, new parkour challenges, and more.

The update also brings with it an extraDying Light 2missioncalled “Mutated Infected,” which is described as a quest that adds “Something Big Has Been Here” and features special Goon variants. Not much else has been said about it. This should be pleasing to fans who enjoy the game but have been waiting for some new content, especially those who felt the main story was a little short.

As with all good patches, this one comes with some tweaks as well, which includes some updates to the UI/UX like adding an FOV slider to the PS5 and Xbox Series X ports. There have also been some technical updates, such as improving the game stability, general gameplay updates, and fixing bugs like audio glitches. No doubtDying Light 2’s New Game Plus modewill be the main thing that’s been implemented that fans have been hoping for, especially as Techland was hinting at it for some time.

The studio has also said thatDying Light 2will be getting a photo mode. However, given that it’s not been rolled out as part of this major update, it’s unsure when that will become available. Still, it’s nice to see the developer is working diligently to keep the game ticking over with new additional features, and some new content as well.
