With the game focusing more on being a puzzle fighter than a straightforward battle game, there’s a specific demand for players to be more tactically-inclined than other Dragon Ball titles. And for those who want to make great teams without spending a dime, perhaps they can look at teams already existing in the anime, including Master Roshi’s students, the Frieza Force’s most elite, the friends of Goku’s dad, various iterations of Cooler, and even pure-blooded Saiyans.
12Bardock’s Squad
Before Goku had his Z-Warriors to help him save the Earth from various threats, his father Bardock actually had his own team to accomplish missions. CalledTeam Bardock, this team wasBardock’s own mercenary troupethat always accompanied him in the toughest of tasks, and proved to be one of the most formidable companies prior to Planet Vegeta’s Destruction.
Key to theDragon Ballgame build is Grand Opening Team Bardock (Leader) which has a Ki + 3 Leader Skill that also gives 120% ATK and DEF buff to tag-sharers. This is a significant boost for the likes of team members with innate ATK and DEF boosts based on various combat situations (Bardock, Fasha, Borgos, Shugesh), and when aided by team support Saiyan Alliance Tora whose Passive can bring in steady buffs for the team.
11Pure Saiyans
During the destruction of Planet Vegeta in the mainDragon Balltimeline, it’s only Goku, Vegeta, and Broly who are left behind as the universe’s remaining pure-blooded Saiyans, leaving the legacy of the Saiyan Race in their hands. In the gameplay of theDragon Ballgame, players can capitalize on the team’s potential to bring in massive damage against enemies. And while Broly’s absent for this particular build, the duo of Goku and Vegeta - bothSaiyans with gorgeous hair- remain more than enough to compensate and become a meta-worthyPure Saiyanscombination.
At the core of the build is the Legendary Variant of the Miraculous Final Battle Goku (GT) & Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, whose Ki + 3 Leader Skill stacks an almost 200% HP, ATK, and DEF boost to characters that fit both the “Power of Wishes” and “Connected Hope” tag. This dual-tag buff stacks well with other Goku-Vegeta pairs, such as the UR Variant of the Miraculous Final Battle, the combat-buffing Exciting Deadly Battle and Universe’s Last Hope variant of SS3 Goku and SS2 Vegeta, as well as the self-sustaining Deadly Climax variant of GT Goku and SS4 Vegeta.
10Metal Coolers
If there’s anythingthe Frieza and Cooler familyhave proven, it’s that they have the tendency to get killed and resurrect in a cybernetic body. And while Frieza in himself is a potent-enough character, to begin with, there’s potential to be tapped into when it comes to a fullMetal Coolersbuild. Key to this team is Infinite Terror Metal Cooler, whose Ki + 3 Leadership Skill also gives a 200% boost to the HP, ATK, and DEF of other “Wicked Bloodline” members - something all other Metal Coolers possess.
Other Metal Coolers to take advantage of this buff include the Revived And Enhanced Strength variant and the Demonic Fighter Of Steel variant, as well as the self-healing Fusion With The Big Gete Star variant, Demonic Fighter Of Steel (Super INT) type, and the Overwhelming Army Metal Cooler Army.
9Ginyu Force
When Frieza noticed the likes of puny Earthlings (plus Vegeta) have been kicking the butts of his personal guard, he called theGinyu Forceto come to take care of this mess. While they’re not as powerful compared toother characters inDragon Balllore,Dokkan Battle’s Ginyu Force headed by Captain’s Ace In The Hole Captain Ginyu is certainly formidable. His +3 Ki Leadership Skill that can grant up to +200% buff to HP, ATK, and DEF of “Terrifying Conquerors,” “Planet Namek Saga” and “Space-Traveling Warriors” easily fit the rest of his team.
This buff is especially useful to stunners such as Brutal Power and Psychokinesis Recoome & Guldo, tanks such as The Ultimate Fighting Squadron Captain Ginyu (Ginyu Force) and Courageous Clash Captain Ginyu, and especially to support units such as Red And Blue Light Orbs Jeice & Burter and Ginyu Force Reborn Ginyu (Goku) (Ginyu Force).
8Turtle School
Before there was the Z-Warriors ofDragon Ball Z, the originalDragon Ballseries had theTurtle School. Led by Master Yoshi, this team inDokkan Battleis headlined by The Soul That Heats Up In A Fierce Battle Goku and his comrades. Key to his position as Leader is his Leadership Skill, which grants Ki + 3 and HP, ATK, DEF +200% to all Turtle School members.
