How to Remove Small Rubble Piles

Small Rubble Pilesare clusters of rocks entwined with vines and small yellow flowers and featuring rune-like spirals that blend with nearbyancient structures. Initially, they might seem like part of the décor, but they are actually obstacles meant to be removed using the Royal Shovel.

To tackle Small Rubble Piles, players need to craft theSmall Rubble Shovel Potionat aTimebending Table. Crafting this potion is an objective of the quest, “Village Project: Timeless Trash.” The required materials are:

Mist is earned by completing Mist Duties, clearing Splinters of Fate, and treasure hunting with the Royal Hourglass.Pearlscan be obtained by digging anywhere in Ancient’s Landing using the Royal Shovel.

Once the player has obtained the necessary materials and crafted the Small Rubble Shovel Potion, the Royal Shovel is immediately upgraded to now be able to remove the Small Rubble piles in Ancient’s Landing. Doing so yields both Soil andPlastic Scrap.

How to Remove Large Rubble Piles

Large Rubble Pilesare larger versions of these viney rocks and are also found exclusively in Ancient’s Landing. Removing these obstacles will require a little more effort, as the player must firstupgrade the Royal Hourglassto Level 1 by spending Mist at the Timebending Table. Doing so unlocks new crafting recipes and allows the player to discoverAncient Core (Level 1)while Timebending.

Ancient Cores are used in numerous recipes for substantially beneficial upgrades, specifically in the creation ofancient machinesthat players can craft and use to automate many day-to-day tasks in Dreamlight Valley. They are also required to craft the Large Rubble Shovel Potion required to upgrade the Royal Shovel so it can remove Large Rubble Piles.

How to Craft Large Rubble Shovel Potion

Crafting the Large Rubble Shovel Potion is an objective of Merlin’s follow-up quest, “Village Project: Timeless Tools.” Once the player has upgraded the Royal Hourglass to Level 1, they can obtain Ancient Core (Level 1) via Timebending, which they’ll need to craft ths upgrade. To craft theLarge Rubble Shovel Potion, players will need to gather these items:

Once the player has collected the necessary items, they should head to the Timebending Table and craft the Large Rubble Shovel Potion from the “Special” category. Once crafted, the Royal Shovel will automatically upgrade and will now be capable of removing Large Rubble Piles in Ancient’s Landing, also yielding Soil and Plastic Scrap used in other crafting recipes.
