Summary

Diablo 4is following up its latest update by releasing Patch 1.1.2, which seeks to address the most pressing technical issues that players have had with the game. Though many fans consider itemization inDiablo 4to be its weakest link, Patch 1.1.1 has done a commendable job in bridging the divide between thefive classes ofDiablo 4. On top of balance changes, mob density in dungeons has increased by a considerable margin, effectively tripling the amount of experience thatDiablo 4players can earn in a single run.

Whereas Patch 1.1.1 sought to fix the problems that pertained to gameplay, Patch 1.1.2 instead focuses on the technical bugs and glitches that have plaguedDiablo 4since launch. Unfortunately, some of these fixes also come at the expense of removing the most popular leveling methods inDiablo 4, such as being able to reset a Nightmare Dungeon by promoting a party member to leader. Though players can still keep track of atier list for Nightmare Dungeons inDiablo 4, they will no longer be able to spam Uldur’s Cave to their heart’s content.

The patch notes were released a few days early, but the patch itself has officially gone live on August 15, merely a few hours after Blizzardindefinitely disabled trade inDiablo 4. Taking this into account, it is especially amusing that one of the highlights of the new patch relates toDiablo 4players automatically joining the official trade channel. Hopefully, this implies that the gold and item duping exploit will be fixed sooner rather than later.

Patch 1.1.2 brings several miscellaneous fixes to the UI for the map screen, as well as the Season Journey menu glitching out after completing a chapter. In terms of content unique toDiablo 4’s Season of the Malignant, the wait time for Malignant mobs to spawn has also been reduced from 5 seconds to 2 seconds after activating a Malignant Heart. Though some fans have argued about the need to kill the same mob twice, it should make the process a bit smoother overall.

Diablo 4players can also expect to see fewer quest rewards mysteriously popping up in Capital Cities, as well as fixes to minor exploits such as being able to obtain an infinite amount of Iron Skin Elixirs through the Desperate Remedies quest. WhileDiablo 4fans are anxiously awaiting for more substantial fixes to the game, which will likely arrive in Season 2 or 3 at the earliest, Patch 1.1.2 is still an important step on that journey.
