InDestiny 2’s history, there have always been fake rumors being spread about Bungie reprising the beloved Exotic rocket launcher Gjallarhorn with some expansion or seasonal content. Gjallarhorn has always been one of the best weapons in the franchise, and in the first installment of the series, it allowed players to destroy bosses and clear adds alike thanks to its Wolfpack Rounds perk. NowGjallarhorn is finally backfor real, andDestiny 2players who purchased the 30th Anniversary Pack can obtain it through an Exotic quest that is tied to the new dungeon, Grasp of Avarice.
Destiny 2’s version of Gjallarhorn seems to be rather similar toDestiny’s, even though the gun went under scrutiny to prevent it from being too broken on launch, and instead make it more in line with the target sandbox.Gjallarhorn’s catalystis also available already, and it makes the rocket launcher deal even more damage, making it a great pick in all ofDestiny 2’s endgame PvE content. However, there is a new perk to Gjallarhorn that didn’t appear on it inDestiny, and it’s called Pack Hunter.

What Pack Hunter does is increase handling and reload speed while near allies, which is good enough in and of itself, but there’s more. In fact, the second line of the perk allows players to provide nearby allies with Wolfpack Rounds if they are using any non-Exotic rocket launcher, and the only requirement is to simply fire Gjallarhorn. A Reddit user by the name of SPODERMEN100 made a post about how powerful this new perk is, and just how great it is for Bungie to acknowledge the fact that Gjallarhorn will likely become a newDestiny 2staple choice.
The reason why this new perk is so big inDestiny 2is that it opens up several build options, like making a single player or two useGjallahron in raidsand then make everyone else use powerful Legendary rocket launchers, such as Hothead and Ascendancy. Furthermore, because looking for a group inDestiny 2can be problematic depending on what weapons players have, Pack Hunter makes Gjallarhorn an incredible pick, but not something every single player should have in any team.
Destiny 2’s Grasp of Avarice also introduces Artifice Armor, which is one of the best things to come to the game in a long time. What this does is make armor pieces drop with an extra mod slot that can only be filled with artifact mods, which is especially great on gauntlets due to Champion mods.
