Destiny 2’sThe Witch Queen is almost a month into its release, and while many players have already finished the campaign, there are still plenty of secrets to discover in Savathun’s Throne World. There are also many facets to the new systems implemented with the expansion, such as weapon crafting, which is now changing the way the endgame is played and what the target for players to farm actually is. This includesunlocking several weapon patterns, grinding rare materials like Ascendant Alloys, and getting Deepsight Resonance weapons for Neutral Elements and other materials.
BecauseDestiny 2is a looter shooter where pieces of gear can be very important when it comes to making or breaking a build or even dealing as much damage as possible to Raid bosses, it’s not a surprise that Exotics are often the focus of a new release. This is because Exotics bring new and exciting perks that can completely change the gameplay flow inDestiny 2, and The Witch Queen expansion did include several new ones - either from in-game activities or as rewards for completing objectives.

Among said rewards, players are faced with a choice of one of two new class-specific Exotic items when completing The Witch Queen’s campaign on Legendary mode, but the choice is not as straightforward as one would think. Many players tend to choose the Exotic they actually want to use or simply the one that is more powerful, but otherDestiny 2fans discovered the hard way that might not be their best option. In fact, farming Lost Sectorscan grant unobtained Exotics more easily and with high stat rolls.
Because the Exotics offered by Ikora at the end of The Witch Queen’s campaign are guaranteed to have bad stat rolls, players should choose the one they are not interested in and farm the other through Lost Sectors instead. Furthermore, the Exotics Ikora offers as rewards are Pinnacle gear. This means that players can avoid picking one immediately, and instead wait until they are closer to thePower Level cap for Season of the Risen, getting a step closer. This is not somethingDestiny 2mentions at any point, but both strategies are great in different ways.
Not all Exotics shipped with The Witch Queen truly hit the mark, however, and this includes the three class-specific glaives.Bungie acknowledged feedback onDestiny 2’s Exotic glaivesrecently, and it’s possible that either mid-season or next season they could take another pass. This is an important step in the right direction, too, because the Exotic glaives are quite difficult to obtain and very underwhelming to use.
Destiny 2is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
