Over the course of last week, theDestiny 2community spent countless hours solving the Corridors of Time puzzle that went live alongside the January 14 reset. Ultimately, theCorridors of Time puzzle solutionwas discovered on January 20, and it provided a path that players could use to navigate the area. Taking this path gave fans immediate access to a quest that rewards Bastion, a brand new exotic fusion rifle, but a change is coming that will allow Bastion-hunters to skip the Corridors of Time completely.
More specifically, following the weekly reset that will occur later today, January 21, players will be able to obtainDestiny 2’s Bastion quest directly from Saint-14 without running through the Corridors of Time at all. This information was confirmed by Bungie yesterday on its official Twitter account, and the developer has provided some additional details on the situation.

Namely, Bungie indicates that the Bastion quest is being unlocked alongside today’s reset specifically because the Corridors of Time puzzle has been solved, and this detail seems to suggest that the community has completed this sizable task more quickly than anticipated. Indeed, theSeason of Dawn roadmapstates that the Bastion exotic quest would not unlock until next Tuesday, January 28, which implies that Bungie did not expect players to finish the puzzle before today’s reset.
After all, Bungie did say that theCorridors of Time puzzle is a “marathon,“and it would thus not be surprising if theDestiny 2developer anticipated the solution to come later than it did. While deviating from the roadmap by moving the release date of the Bastion quest may cause some slight confusion within the community, that approach may be better than forcing players to wait another week before they can obtain the quest directly from Saint-14.
Of course, players could simply continue running through the solved Corridors of Time in order to access theBastion exotic quest, as fans have been doing since the puzzle was solved, and some in the community believe that doing so should be requisite. These players suggest that removing that requirement means that all the work surrounding the puzzle was pointless, though those that put effort into the Corridors of Time may at least be happy to know that they exceeded Bungie’s expectations.
