For the first time since the launch ofDestiny 2last week, the game’s servers will be temporaily taken down for maintenance, leaving players unable to get online for a total of four hours. The work is scheduled to take place from 7 AM PST/10 AM EST/ 2PM GMT onwards so fans who are planning a play session later today might want to take this into consideration.
Players who are still online will receive a warning at the above time, informing them that maintenance will shortly commence. From that point, they will have an hour to vacate theDestiny 2servers before being forcibly removed from the game. Right now, there is no word on what Bungie is looking to fix in the short session but it could simply be to make sure that the game’s first reset goes smoothly.
The downtime will arrive around the same time as theDestinyweekly reset which aims to refresh the title’sNightfall, Flashpoint, Clan XP, Crucible Call to Arms, Weekly Challenges, and Eververse Bright Dust inventory. The originalDestinyservers will also be down, although the majority of the playerbase has likely already moved on to the highly-anticipated sequel.
This short downtime might come as a disappointment to players who are still looking to grind their way to therecommended power levelfor the upcoming Leviathan raid. With the level required now being officially confirmed by Bungie,Destinyfans will have some work ahead of them in order to ensure that their guardians are sufficiently powerful in order to handle the challenge.
Those players who are still looking to make that final push past the soft power level cap can now do so a little easier as Bungie confirms the easiest way tosurpass level 260. As we move into the second week ofDestiny 2, guardians everywhere are reaching the endgame stage and preparing to move forward into the more challenging side of the new MMORPG-inspired shooter.
Destiny 2is out now for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release following on October 24th.
