Destiny 2will go through a myriad of changes October 1st when the Shadowkeep expansion launches as well asthe free-to-play version of the game known as New Light. Developer Bungie has had very open communication with its players and has continued to detail new content coming to the game and how its systems will change. While all the information has been great, it is easy to get lost among all the details.
Thankfully,@mr_niris(on Twitter)put together an incredibly well-designed infographic explaining howDestiny 2will be changing this fall. Based on the information Bungie has revealed aboutDestiny 2up to the most recent post from franchise director Luke Smith concerning seasons in Year 3, the infographic gives a detailed at-a-glance look at Year 3 and what fans will get when they buy each expansion.

Starting with New Light, which is a free, lite version ofDestiny 2, players will be able to access all of the game’s Year 1 content including the original campaign, the Curse of Osiris and Warmind expansions, and all the Year 1 raid and raid lairs. In addition to the Year 1 content, New Light players will be able to free roam on all destinations (even the Moon coming in Shadowkeep), access the opening mission of the Shadowkeep campaign,the Eye of the Gatelord Seasonal Artifact, the free path on the Season Pass for Season of the Undying, all the strikes in the game (including two new strikes coming in Shadowkeep), the Crucible, Crucible Labs, Gambit and Gambit Prime, and select Forsaken and Year 2 Annual Pass content.
If players want the full content from Year 2, comprised of Forsaken and the Annual Pass content, they will have to spend $40 to unlock it. They will have the same content as New Light players, including the free path onDestiny 2’s Season Pass.
Finally, Shadowkeep costs $35 for the Standard Edition, which includes the Season of the Undying and both the free and premium track of its Season Pass. Shadowkeep does not require Forsaken or any other paid content to play, which is different to how the game has worked in the past. Finally, the Deluxe Edition of Shadowkeep also includes Season Passes forall four seasons of Year 3as well an exotic emote, exotic Ghost shell, and emblem.
