The Blast Furnace was one of the best weapons available back whenDestiny 2’sBlack Armory launched during theForsakenera. It was unrivaled in medium-range engagements thanks to its high zoom value and supreme lethality when combined with all the right perks.
TheInto The Light update forDestiny 2brought this weapon back from the grave, and it’s got a wider variety of perks to roll with now. A lot has changed since Blast Furnace saw the light of day, and if you want one that can compete with the other top Pulse Rifles in the current meta, here are the perks you’ll want on yours.

Since Blast Furnace’s Range stat is already high, players can safely go for other Barrel/Magazine perks that give bonuses to other stats like Stability and Handling.
Blast Furnace comes with a solid stat package that trumps the majority of other weapons in its category. With 79 Range, 64 Stability, and 65 Recoil Direction at base, it can easily contend againstthe likes of Elsie’s Rifleor even the Messenger in mid-range fights. The only downside of this weapon is it has a base Handling stat of 24, which will make the weapon feel very sluggish to some.

This Pulse Rifle can be decent in PvE. Get one with aKinetic TremorsandOne For Allroll, and it will absolutely destroy enemy combatants from medium range. Any of the damage perks in the fourth column could also be decent substitutes for One For All.
Blast Furnace is at its strongest in PvP. Range and Stability are the two most important stats for four-shot Pulse Rifles, and Blast Furnace has plenty of them by default. The interesting thing about Blast Furnace is that it hasHeadseekerin the third column, which means you can pair it with damage perks like Kill Clip and Rampage for absurd Precision Hit damage in the Crucible. Headseeker alone is enough to significantly increase the consistency of any Pulse Rifle by buffing Precision damage after hitting a body shot. When paired with a damage perk, this buff becomes even stronger, further increasing consistency and reliability even if you hit anywhere below your target’s neck.
