Warlord’s Ruinis a dungeon players can access now inDestiny 2by heading to the EDZ. The dungeon takes place in a remote, medieval castle perched on snowy mountains, and has a distinct Iron Lord theme that will likely please new and veteran players alike. After defeating the Scorn and the Taken plaguing this dungeon, players will be rewarded with armor perfect for a snowy expedition in the mountains, as well as weapons.
Warlord’s Ruin introduces four new Legendary weapons, as well as one new Exotic weapon. All of them have been considered for the ranking. While the archetypes leave a lot to be desired, there are still some brilliant perk combinations here that are worth playing around with. Each weapon comes with thenew Origin Trait called Sundering, which boosts charge and reload speed when players destroy constructs or vehicles. 5Dragoncult Sickle
Strand Sword
There’s really only one Legendary sword that deserves a spot in everyone’s Vault, andthat’s The Other Halfor Half-Truths. As such, Dragoncult Sickle has stiff competition and fails to really make a big impression in a meta where swords, in general, see limited usage (especially Legendary swords that have no mobility perks).
However, what makes this sword interesting is its Strand affinity, which grants it a few Strand-specific perks. For the first major perk, players can pick up Slice for the extra Sever effect after casting their class ability, and the second has good old Hatchling. Those who want a more generalist build can go forTireless Bladewhich grants more sword ammo and Surrounded for a 40% damage boost when enemies are in close proximity.
4Vengeful Whisper
Strand Bow
Vengeful Whisper is definitely not the go-to Strand bow this season, but it’s an okay pick-up for those who are set on sticking with Strand weaponsand Strand builds. The first perk should absolutely be Explosive Head to ensure that players are dealing damage not just to one target but multiple with one shot.
The second perk is a bit more flexible. Hatchling can be nice for builds that focus on them, but otherwise, Successful Warm-Up is a nice generalist perk that lowers the draw time with each consecutive kill with the bow. The latter is especially handy given how sluggish bows can feel in PVE.
3Naeem’s Lance
Strand Sniper Rifle
Sniper rifles have received a lot of love from Bungie as of late, so of course, Naeem’s Lance ranks up far above the previous two archetypes simply for being a sniper.It’s also a Strand weapon, but it comes with two perks that make it a surprisingly good pick-up, even if sniper rifles are still a little bit unpopular in PVE.
The first perk should be Reconstruction, which reloads the magazine over time on its own. This is a wonderful perk for pretty much any Special weapon and is a no-brainer pick. The second perk pool comes with Precision Instrument, which buffs damage up to 25% at its sixth stack when players deal sustained damage on the same target. With Surge mods equipped on top of this, Naeem’s Lance and any weapon with this perk can deal some seriously good damage for a Special weapon.
2Indebted Kindness
Arc Sidearm
It’s still early to say whether Indebted Kindness is worth its praise, but there’s no doubt that it’s an interesting and unique concept. Likethe Exotic sidearmForerunner, it’s a Special ammo weapon. The fact that this sidearm shoots out mini-rockets automatically puts it above the rest of the weapons, and it’s already showing some promise on the PVP side of things, too.
For PVE, Beacon Rounds is a perk that activates after players have scored a few kills. It essentially turns the rockets into tracking projectiles, which removes the need to lead one’s shots when aiming with the sidearm. The second perk is a powerful Arc staple, Voltshot, which jolts the next target after getting a kill and reloading the weapon.
1Buried Bloodline
Exotic Void Sidearm
Another sidearm from the dungeon is the Exotic weapon itself,Buried Bloodline. Aside from its beautiful crossbow-like appearance,Buried Bloodlineis also a fairly nice Void Exotic overall. It fires two bolts that track, and on hit, they will leech health from enemies. Not just that, when players score final blows with it, it activates the void buff Devour.
Buried Bloodlinebecomes even more powerful with its Catalyst because when Devour is activated, the weapon also weakens any targets the player shoots. All in all, it may seem like a niche Exotic, but it can definitely find a spotin some Void buildsthanks to its ability to trigger two major Void status effects, provided the Catalyst has been upgraded to Masterwork.
