This coming May, Arkane Studios will be releasing its newest IP for the PlayStation 5 as well as the PC calledDeathloop. Originally planned to be a launch title,Deathloopwas ultimately delayed into 2021with development slowing down due to the studio working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even with the launch date approaching, the game remains a mystery due to its unique gameplay and storytelling being far different from Arkane’s previous work like theDishonoredtitles.

What fans do know is thatDeathloopputs players in the shoes of an assassin known as Colt who is suddenly stuck in a never ending time loop on amysterious island called Blackreef. Described by the studio as a big murder puzzle, players will need to figure out how to solve the mystery in one perfect run and break the curse. However, figuring things out will ultimately come from countless deaths at the hands of eight targets known as Visionaries as well as Julianna Blake, an assassin specifically hunting him through each run. While Colt retains his memories, each death and end of the day results in the time loop resetting itself.
