Dead by Daylight: Best Builds for The Oni
As theStranger ThingsDLC Chapter returns toDead by Daylight, its once general perks now return to the characters they were released with. This new and improved guide removes The Demogorgon’s teachable perks from the beginner build; it also features a new list of the best Add-Ons to use on The Oni.

The Oni: Best Non-Teachable Build (2023)
A dangerous yetwell-balanced Killer, the experienced Oni is an expert atmaintaining pressure on Survivors by keeping them injuredand using his power to snowball, achieving multiple downs with one use. This build is designed to follow these principles by keeping Survivors injured and preventing them from usingtheir Exhaustion perks.
The Oni: Best Build (2023)
This build focuses on using some of the most powerful perks inDead by Daylighttoslow the game down tremendouslywith a variety of regression perks while still gaining information on distant Survivors.
The Oni: Best Add-Ons
Cracked Sakazuki
While The Oni’s Common Add-Ons aren’t particularly impactful, the Cracked Sakazuki is maybe the best among them. This Add-On decreases Blood Fury activation and cooldown time byhalf a second each, enabling a slightly faster style of play.
Chipped Saihai
The best Uncommon Add-On, the Chipped Saihai increases the duration of The Oni’s power by6 seconds, granting more time to achieve instant downs while in Blood Fury.
Yamaoka Sashimono
Like the Chipped Saihai, the Yamaoka Sashimono increases Blood Fury duration by an extra8 seconds.
Kanai-Anzen Talisman
For players who prefer speed to duration, the Kanai-Anzen Talisman increases Blood Furymovement speed by 8%. This Oni Add-On is particularly effective for those who have already mastered one ofDead by Daylight’s stronger Killersand want to get more out of their power.
Splintered Hull
The Oni has some spectacular Very Rare Add-Ons, but chief among them is the Splintered Hull. This power modifier increases thefrequency of Blood Orbsdropped by Survivors by 33%, essentially allowing The Oni to enter power far more often and instantly down Survivors.
Lion Fang
The Oni’s best duration Add-On, the Lion Fang simply increases Blood Fury duration by10 seconds.
Akito’s Crutch
Similar to the Kanai-Anzen Talisman, Akito’s Crutch increases Demon Dash movement speed. The13% increased speedwill certainly catch even themost experienced Survivorsoff-guard.
Iridescent Family Crest
Though not as impressive as his Very Rare Add-Ons, the Iridescent Family Crest is a useful little Ultra Rare Add-On that can help weed out stealthy Survivors. During Blood Fury, attacking the ground will cause all Survivors within24 metersto scream and reveal their location for 4 seconds. Importantly, this Add-On requires no Survivor input and cannot be countered byJeff Johansen’s Distortion.
