The Crash Bandicoot series has seen huge success in the past few years, betweenCrash Team Racingand theN. Sane Trilogy, which paved the way for remakes likeMediEvilandSpyro Reignited. Now, after thethird Grand Prixhas launched and introduced Spyro into the series, the Crash Bandicoot twitter has announced three more seasons on their way, bringing new maps and racers, all for free.
Previous Grand Prix releases have brought along big names like Spyro, Baby Crash, and the Nitro Squad toCrash Team Racing. Along with the new characters and maps, each season of the Grand Prix also comes with a number of challenges, which grant rewards for completing over the course of the season.

The first character announced with seasons four, five, and six of the Grand Prix is Nina Cortex, but the other two characters have yet to be revealed, only showing their silhouettes in the announcement tweet. Season four is likely to come out sometime in October, to align with its Halloween theme. Similarly, the sixth season is likely to release in December with its winter theme and the antlered mystery character, who some fans are already speculating.
The newest additions to theCrash Team Racingroster are sure to keep up player engagement for the coming months, clearly indicating that the team over at Beenox is clearly looking to keep up support for the game for some time to come. Since the title’s release on June 21st, 2019, there has been a large amount of content pumping into the game, keeping the first year exciting and encouraging players to stay active on all platforms. Granted, this is par for the course for most games now, having roll-outs of content for the first year to continue drawing revenue throughadd-on content and microtransactions.
While keeping content coming for some time after launch has become an industry standard, allowing developers to continue working on an already finished product as opposed to having to start from the ground up immediately after shipping their latest project. This model for game development has elicited fan rage in the past, but now it clearly excites fans whenever games drop new characters in fighting games, like Terminator joining Mortal Kombat 11, or new areas to explore in open world adventures like Assassin’s Creed Odessey. Only time will tell how this works out forCrash Team Racing, but considering how well the last three seasons of theGrand Prixdid, it’s easy to assume that the events will be well received once again.
