Redditor coquelicot-s took to Ankha’s home to come up with a design that not only suits her character model, but is both pleasing to the eye and the nostalgic bone. Ankha, the snooty cat villager, is directly based on the Abyssinian breed of cat and portrays Ancient Egyptian qualities with both her physical attributes and attire. Due to this and the rarity of finding her,Ankha is one of the most popular characters inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons. Originally her home was Egyptian-inspired, with her furniture, wallpaper, and flooring all taken from the Egyptian catalog and placed in a way that acts as a shrine to Ankha. Coquelicot-s took it upon themself to make some appropriate changes.

With the ability to add partition walls, coquelicot-s created a maze-like structure complete with Thwomp accessories, an enemy character from theSuper Marioset. Upon entering Ankha’s home, players must find their way around the Thwomps set up at the end of each partition wall in hopes of avoiding their demise and finding the treasures that lie ahead. Treasure chests, piles of golden blocks, and even an item set up to resemble the Chachapoyan Fertility Idol are all featured items for the player to find. While the representation ofIndiana Jonesin video game cultureisn’t uncommon, its appearance inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonswas appreciated by many who witnessed the project.
