Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers are anxious for the delivery of the battle royale’s next major update. The update will include theCall of Duty: Warzone’s next map, Caldera, the first major change outside of the ‘84 map alteration to Verdansk. Up until now, however, Activision Blizzard has been very withholding of information regarding the Caldera map. Today that changed, at least to a degree. Today’s reveal included a number of screenshots fromCall of Duty: Warzone’s Caldera map, revealing content previously undisclosed.
Seven newCall of Duty: Warzone Pacific, which the battle royale is rebranding to for the release of the new map, screenshots were shared by Activision Blizzard in total. The Caldera map will be of similar size to Verdansk, so there’s a lot of ground (and air) to cover. A majority of the screenshots focus on a majornewCall of Duty: Warzone Pacificfeature, which is the addition of planes, but several key new locations are also a focus.

The firstCaldera mapscreenshot, and perhaps the most exciting of the seven, shows a view from the map’s highest point. There’s a base on the top of a volcano that’s currently in construction, so it’s littered with stacks of lumber and other materials, tents for workers, and lots of scaffolding above high vertical drops. The screenshot also offers a great view of one side of the island. There’s a radio tower in the distance, what looks like a vine bridge over a deep valley, and a cuboid building along the water.

Other screenshots show Caldera locations including a village built where two rivers join with lots of crossing bridges, an industrial site with cranes and warehouses, an airfield with a hangar, an outpost amid red clay roads where players can climb atop many small one-story buildings, and what could be avehicledepot with the volcano base looming far overhead. Lastly, there’s a beach location that looks to be a hotel, with surfboards planted in the sand and palm-leaf umbrellas.
As befitting the Caldera name, all of the screenshots show the island is covered in palm trees and jungle foliage. Since it’s abattle royale, the key locations are spread evenly over the island with jungle in between. Since this isCall of Duty: Warzone, it strikes a fine line between a realistic setting and a more fanciful map. As such, there’s a lot of industrial and military locations, but also some fun locations like a volcano, waterfall, or so on.

Activision Blizzardhas yet to do a thorough introduction to the Caldera map, so these screenshots are the best way to get a feel for the new map at this time. Expect a deeper look at Caldera and its key locations when theCall of Duty: Warzoneupdate arrives on December 2.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
