Now, it seems thatCall of Dutyis seemingly celebratingWarzoneandBlack Ops Cold War’s next season with a merch drop. The officialCall of DutyTwitter account is currently hosting a “Flash Drop” aroundWarzonethat offers players the chance to buy a cap with the word “gulag” across the front of it.

Now thatCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris out, the game is being integrated with Infinity Ward’s ongoing battle royale title,Call of Duty: Warzone. Though someModern Warfarefans are upsetat this integration, it seems like Activision is set on this new path forWarzone. In fact,Warzone’s Season 6 content has reset to coincide withBlack Ops Cold War’s Season One content. Now,Call of Dutyis currently celebrating this fresh start with an exclusive merch drop on the game’s official Snapchat.

The announcement comes by way of theCall of DutyTwitter account, asking players to “follow us on Snapchat to ensure you don’t miss out.” It appears that this merch drop may be an exclusive sale tied to this “Flash Drop” sale. The “Flash Drop” sale features a solid black ballcap with the word “gulag” written across the front,referencingCall of Duty: Warzone’s gulagarena. This Gulag Cap appears to be selling for $30, not including shipping costs.

This is the first time that Activision andCall of Dutyhave offered up official merchandise for a limited time exclusively on one platform. While it’s certainly a novel idea, it was an announcement that seemed to come completely out of the left field. For those consumers interested in picking up a cap, they should head toCall of Duty’s official Snapchat as soon as they can.Call of Dutyhas had merchlines in the past to promote past games, but this is certainly an interesting direction to take future merchandise drops.

Of course, this could simply be a one-time offer for fans interesting in grabbing this specific piece ofCall of Dutymerchandise. Fans know that Soap is coming to the game in some form and that the team stopped the planned nuke on Verdansk, but what comes next still remains a mystery.
