Four years after its original release, fans ofThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildare still discovering new secrets hidden in the game. However, some of these secrets may be less intentional than others, as one player recently found a glitch that allows them to playBreath of the Wildin first-person - without needing the DLC-exclusive Master Cycle Zero item.
While Redditor Diamond-Herobrine shared the news on Reddit, it appears that the glitch was shared earlier on Japanese Twitter by the @SNSKTues account. This isn’t the onlybug found inBreath of the Wild, but it may be one of the most useful for first-person gaming enthusiasts.

Diamond-Herobrine showcased both the glitch and the process required to activate it in a short, 18-second-long video. It appears that gamers can playBreath of the Wildin first-person perspectivewith a short series of commands. According to the poster, the pattern goes weapon smuggle, re-equip shield, switch to camera rune, hold an item, press ZL, switch weapons, and then press L and + at the same time. The complexity of this string of commands has led a few other users to compare it to random button-mashing, but some claim to have tried it and that the glitch worked for them as well.
While the glitch can be pulled off in under 20 seconds, Diamond-Herobrine stated in the comments under the original post that other gamers don’t have to do it as fast as they did. If the combination still proves too difficult, there are a few other exploits players can use to getBreath of the Wildinto first-person, including one glitch involving theBreath of the Wilditeration of Link’s Master Cycle. However, the Master Cycle Zero is restricted to the Champions' Ballad DLC, and players have to complete a series of challenges before they can get access to the bike.
As of writing, fans generally appear to be grateful for another avenue to playBreath of the Wildin a first-person perspective, though this glitch does seem to come with some limitations. For example, interacting with any of theshrines inBreath of the Wildmay send the game back into third-person perspective. Likewise, entering into a new load zone may also cause the game to reset back to its usual POV. Still, most users appear to be quite grateful for an easier first-person glitch that doesn’t require spending actual money on the Champions' Ballad DLC.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildis available now for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
