TheBorderlandsfranchises features plenty of iconic imagery, with gun manufacturer logos and Siren tattoos often standing out. However, the Vault symbol is easily the thing that is most closely associated withBorderlands, so it makes sense that it would be the focus of one fan’s special project.

The Vault symbol is memorable for several reasons, the biggest being that it has become the official logo for the franchise. Thecover of every mainBorderlandsgameboasts the symbol, and it can be seen several times throughout each game. A collectible type saw players finding hidden Vault symbols inBorderlands 2andBorderlands: The Pre-Sequel, while the main antagonist ofBorderlands 3led the Children of the Vault - ensuring ghat players saw the symbol often.

Given the importance of Vaults and Vault Hunting in the franchise, the symbol seems like the perfect focus for what Redditor KimFrancesArt made. After all, it is likely to remain relevant to the franchise for years to come, as the concept of the Vaults is deeply engrained into the looter-shooter series’ story and gameplay. Still, even with a popular symbol being the focus, this project is very different. While there has been plenty of creativity in theBorderlandscommunity as of late, as fans have shared stylish nail art anda replica of Zer0’s sword, the concept of a suncatcher is entirely new. However, it turned out to be a great idea, as KimFrancesArt nailed the design and made an incredible decoration.

The suncatcher is made entirely out of stained glass, allowing it to be impacted by the sunlight in a positive way. The Redditor shows two different images of the creation, with the “normal” version of the suncatcher boasting some red glass and purple bits that resembleBorderlands’ powerful resource Eridium. The symbol itself looks great, as does the black background behind it. However, while the normal version of the suncatcher is lovely, it looks even better once there is some light shining through it.

Instead of being a marble-like mix between blue and purple, the suncatcher boasts a vibrant red color when touched by light. Entirely solid apart from the pattern on the window blinds behind, the final product is absolutely worth the work that went into it. The post has nearly 1,000 upvotes and several positive comments left bytheBorderlandscommunity, and it is easy to see why. While a suncatcher is a fair bit different from the usual fan art or cosplay, its uniqueness is certainly deserving of some appreciation.

Though theupcomingTiny Tina’s Wonderlandswill see players focused on defeating the Dragon Lord, Vaults will likely come back into play wheneverBorderlands 4releases. As such,Borderlandsplayers will surely get the chance to see more Vault symbols that resemble the one made by KimFrancesArt.
