Borderlands 3fans waiting on the next expansion to arrive have been giving a special incentive to keep playing the game’s current content. For the next several weeks, playing co-op inBorderlands 3will reward players with extra loot drops, with the rewards scaling based on the number of Vault Hunters in the group.
The new “Co-Op Loot Drop Mini-Event” should see players hopping back intoBorderlands 3, bringing a few friends along with them.The latestBorderlands 3eventsees players being rewarded with more weapon drops depending on the number of people fighting alongside them. With a smaller bonus coming from playing with one friend and a larger buff to loot dropped if playing with two or three companions, the event could see friend groups reaping lots of rewards on Pandora and its surrounding planets.

Players can expect to see increased loot in the base game as well as DLC, giving them reasons to farm inlocations likeBorderlands 3’s Lectra Cityas well as post-launch areas like The Handsome Jackpot. The loot increase is confirmed to work inBorderlands 3’s challenging Takedowns as well, with it becoming a bit more viable to run the raid-like activities over the next several weeks. Players will have until January 21 to enjoy the increased loot drops, giving fans plenty of time with the boost to rewards.
It is worth noting that fans ofBorderlands 3’s Arms Race mode will be benefiting a bit less from this “Co-Op Loot Drop Mini-Event.” In the 2K post detailing the month-long change to loot rates, it was confirmed that there would be a “slightly lower bonus rate for balance purposes.” While players may be a bit disappointed by this news due to theexclusive legendary weapons in Arms Race, the nerf makes sense due to the amount of loot that already drops in the DLC game mode.
It is also worth noting that players can profit from the special event and its generous loot offline as well. Via split-screen play inBorderlands 3, players can get the same boost to loot from the event, as up to four players can be active in split-screen at one time. Whether playing with friends online or through a shared screen, fans of the looter shooter have the perfect opportunity touseBorderlands 3weaponsthat they have not tried in the past.
This special event should make the wait untilBorderlands 3’s Director’s Cut DLCa bit more bearable. With the content not coming until later in 2021, however, fans should have plenty of time to prepare the strongest loadouts and builds for their Vault Hunters – and this event seems like a great place to start.
