A new video from the set ofBlack Panther: Wakanda Foreverhas surfaced online that offers viewers a look at the throne room in the upcoming film. The video, which seems to be taken inside a rather large soundstage, immediately went viral on social media, with fans talking about how the Wakandan set seems to honor the legacy of the late Chadwick Boseman.
After the sudden death of the lead actor who portrayed the role of King T’Challa in the first film, there was a lot of conversation about what direction the sequel would go in. The cast members have spoken about howtheBlack Panther 2script has been modifiedto honor Boseman and the new video could potentially answer the burning question, as the set being put up for the throne room has a hidden memorial to his titular character.

It was revealed in June thatproduction onBlack Panther: Wakanda Foreverhad begun, which meant that sets for the upcoming film would be going up. A month later, a video from the sets has leaked online. Originally from coolfreetv, the short clip shows the throne room with its iconic gold pillars and tapestries, along with the black panther statues. It seems like the room will be very similar to the one featured in the firstBlack Pantherfilm. However, the pillars now include text in the Wakandan language that points to a new memorial for T’Challa.
In October of last year, Marvel had published a book that offers fans a translation key for the fictional language. Now, Keen-eyed Marvel fans have cracked the code and translated the words on the pillars in the new throne room. The words seem to read: “Rest in power King T’Challa, our hero. It was an honor. Wakanda Forever.” This may confirm thatthe upcomingBlack Panthersequelwill mark the end of the life of Boseman’s on-screen hero, honoring both the character and the actor’s legacy.
After Boseman’s death, many fans wondered if another actor would be hired to play the role of T’Challa. However, Marvel boss Kevin Feige squashed those rumors and confirmed thatBlack Panther would not be recast. There has been no confirmation yet on how the plot will handle the void.
Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwill, however, see several other actors returning to reprise their roles, including Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett. Many fans would also like to see thereturn of Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger, even though the character died at the end ofBlack Panther. With the Multiverse now in play, anything is possible.
